Mobile: who's daycare had week of appreciation ideas?
It's been awhile but someone posted that their daycare sent home a letter with a 'theme' for each day. Not sure if it was for teacher appreciation week or for the holidays. The ideas were like breakfast, something sweet, etc. My daycare/ preschool is looking to do something similar so I was curious what all 5 days were. Thanks to anyone who can help!
Re: whos daycare had week of apprec. ideas?
For Teacher's Appreciation week our's had:
A day where they put vases out for each teacher and asked each child to bring in a flower or two to make a bouquet
Friday they had a potluck, where parents brought in food for them to have lunch
they had a station where parents could stop with their child and make cards for their teachers, and then they handed them out to the teachers.
One day the school bought them breakfast.
I feel like I'm missing something.
I know at DH's school, he got his teachers a new tv and dvd player for the lounge, and a keurig and asked parents if they wanted to make donations for the initial keurig beverages. Along with a lot of similar things above. He also had a masseuse come in so they could get a back/shoulder massage during their break if they wanted one.
That was me. We had teacher's appreciated week this past week and the daycare sent out an emial with these suggestions:
Monday - Flowers
Tuesday - Breakfast
Wednesday - Sweet Treats
Thursday - Lunch
Friday - Parents Choice.
Netty - your child's school sounds much more organized than mine's. They literally did nothing to coordinate other than sending the email.
Any other ideas are welcome too!
They're pretty great. I'm on the Parent Ambassador Group, and we helped make sign-up sheets, and come up with ideas (more like themes for the lunch or changing the area for the cards and heart tree)...although, it's pretty much set as tradition at this point. We were talking about it months ago, so they were on it.
For DD's class: (pre-k)
Monday- all the kids brought a flower for her
Tuesday- all the kids brought a thank you card they made for her
Wednesday- all the kids brought a treat for the teacher
Thursday- pot luck for all the teachers, items brought by parents
Friday- Thank you card signed by all the parents with a Target gift card we all pitched in on.
DS's class (2 yr)
There are only 5 kids in the class so each parent was assigned a day to bring her a treat. I brought her a breakfast taco on Tuesday.
And the kids are at the same school so his teacher was also at the potluck. The parents also all chipped in on a giftcard and signed a card.
I'm glad we're appreciating them but also glad this week is over, ha!
So much to remember!
My Ovulation Chart
Our daycare provided breakfast for the teachers one morning and lunch another day. Parents were asked to bring in dessert for the day that the teachers had lunch and if you wanted to, you could donate money toward the catered breakfast and lunch. I like the flower bouquet and homemade card idea so I might bring that up for next year!
Our daycare also does "muffins for mom" around mothers day and "donuts for dads" around fathers day, so the muffins for mom event was today, during teacher appreciation week.
With work I already feel like I don't have much time to spend with her so I didn't want to run around trying to do anything more creative.
