So, we've tried olive oil, baby oil, and Head & Shoulders (as prescribed by a doc). Yet, DS's cradle cap keeps coming back.
Do I need to be more religious about doing this stuff daily, despite the fact DS does not get a bath daily? Is there something else I should try?
What am I missing about getting rid of this nastiness? (Although I must say it is not a bad case, just persistent and kind of gross.)

Re: This cradle cap is kicking my behind!
DS still has his, luckily its never been too bad, it just looks like dry scalp and has never become that nasty yellow patch stuff.
It's so much better after I committed to rubbing baby oil on his scalp and brushing it a baby comb twice each day. It seems like it's almost gone now that I've been doing it religiously for a week. Before then I was only doing it on bath day.
I just do it on the diaper changing pad, I put a towel down under his head and basically drench his scalp with baby oil as he lays there and plays with a toy...sometimes I have to keep him from touching his scalp since his fingers are straight to his mouth. I rub it with my finger tips and let it sit on there for five or so minutes. Then I pat it drier with the towel and use the baby brush to gently rub the spots. It looks better immediately after I'm done...but I find if I skip a time it reverts back. I skipped it last night and it actually looked pretty good this morning....but like I said, I've been doing it straight for a week.
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

Every other day I've been using a baby brush to loosen the flakes, then applying coconut oil, then bath, then combing out the flakes. Most of it went away except for around her forehead and a small patch on the crown, both those areas were red and irritated. I dabbed breastmilk on those spots with each feeding for a few days (while still doing the coconut oil before bath) and its pretty much gone now
This worked really well for us too.
