Glucose test?

As a FTM I'm not sure when most tests or things happpen. As I was scrolling through facebook with many of my other friends being preg as well, I realized I've never had a glucose test or even a mention of one... I had hyperemisis for my first 17 weeks and lost over 30 pounds. Could that be the reason? My ob just thinks I'm not at risk? Should I ask at my coming appointment or am I just getting ahead of myself and at 23 weeks they wait longer? I'm truly the clueless preggo!

    I had my glucose test at 26 weeks; they will administer it around 26-28 weeks. I've had HG with all three of my pregnancies and can say that they won't let you skip this test even if you are still vomiting. :)

    My glucose test was yesterday (26 weeks). Ask your doctor at your next appointment. My understanding is that everyone is checked for it, unless you opt out, and it is not done before 26 weeks.

    Thanks ya'll. It just seems most of my expecting friends are getting them at 1517 weeks? We all see different obgyns. Not that I WANT to drink tjat nasty stuff. Lol

    Just so you know, the drink isn't bad for everyone. Shockingly, I liked the taste of it lol. Hopefully you don't suffer through like some women have to.

    I'll be getting one in the next week or two because I have PCOS and with my background I have a higher chance of developing GD.  If I pass the first one I will do a second one at 26-28 weeks.  I'm not looking forward it!

     Moms at higher risk for GD will often get two glucose tests. One around 15 weeks and another in the late second trimester.

    I had my first one early in the pregnancy because diabetes runs in my family. That one came back fine. The doc told me that around 6 months I will have another.

    That's another reason I thought it was strange. My ob is aware that diabetes runs in my family. Maternal grandmother and aunt had it. I guess I'll just mention it at my visit on the 22nd.

    My doc performs that test from 24 to 28 weeks. Wow I thought me loosing 20 pounds my first trimester was alot but 30 for you. Gl
