DS just turned 9 months old. We lay him down on his back but he immediately rolls over to his side or stomach. He moves all over his crib during the night. It's free of bumpers, blankets, etc. We have an Angel Care monitor with the motion sensor and for the past two nights the alarm has gone off, but it's because DS has wedged himself into a corner and too far off the sensor pad. It scares the crap out of me when it goes off and takes me a while to calm down and get back to sleep. There is an option to turn the motion sensor off and just have sound, but that worries me a little. He won't sleep on his back. I tried letting him nap in his swing a few days ago and he got mad that he couldn't roll over. I know that the monitor, even with it's alarm, probably can't totally prevent SIDS, but it helps me sleep....except for recently with these false alarms. Should I just turn the motion sensor off now?

I don't even keep the sound monitor on anymore. I can hear her cry from the other room and now she'll sometimes contently play in her crib when she wakes in the morning, allowing us extra sleep time or time to get dressed without juggling her at the same time.
they say you should still put baby to bed on their back, but once they can roll, don't worry about flipping them over all the time.
LO sleeps on his tummy (we put him to bed on his back, but for naps always been on the tummy) now that he rolls on to his tummy ive just been putting him to bed on his tummy and he sleeps so much better.
