First Swimming Lesson today!

We have our first swimming lesson today. And if you remember my son hates his bath. So I'm very nervous about today. He has been in a pool last summer but I don't know if he'll be ok like he was before.

He does love water, love his water table and his dog's water bowl. Any tips. We have his swimming diaper speedo. I cannot wait to see him in it!

    good luck!  Have fun and take some pictures of him!

    Oh, as for tips...bring an extra towel - you never know!  Also, go slow the first time, he may freak out but it is ok!  They try to make it fun for the kids so just let him have fun...if you have to leave early don't worry, it happens even after they have been going for a while.  Sometimes it just isn't a good day.

    Thanks, the saving grace for me is that it's a free lesson. So I won't be upset if we wasted money. I need to get him pool ready we go on vacation in two weeks.

    If it doesn't go well, I suggest you go back. Jackson clung to me like no other for our free lesson and now he absolutely LOVES it! We just started our 2nd session. There's a new toddler in this class and for the 1st lesson he screamed and cried and didn't want to do anything. After class, we were in the changing room and the mom was almost in tears and was saying how she was so embarrassed and said she probably wouldn't come back. I told her she needed to try it at least one more time and to not give up! She came back. Her son did soooo much better and is doing great! So...don't give up! Be calm and patient in the pool if he gets upset. Good luck!

    We started swim lessons on Monday. We are doing the ISR infant survival ones. DS hates the lessons, he cries every day. But, it is good for him. I think part of the problem is the cold water (even though it is a heated pool.)
