Teething? F U

So yesterday, I noticed Gibson's butt was bleeding when I changed him.  The skin around his anus was super red and irritated.  It literally happened from one diaper change to the next.  I called the pedi's office and spoke to a nurse and she had me mix a concoction of Lotrimin, A&D ointment, liquid Mylanta and hydrocortisone.  She said if I didn't see improvement by today, he needs to be seen.  It looks about the same this morning and he was also burning up when he woke up, temp was 102.5 and then 102.1 right after.  I've given him a lukewarm bath (with baking soda for his hiney), let him lay around naked and gave him Tylenol.  We're going to see the pedi at 1.  I really hope the fever is from teething-which is also what the nurse thinks his sore butt is from-and not from an infection from the broken skin and bacteria. 

 Is anyone else dealing with anything like this?  How high have your babies' temps been due to teething?

    N's got to 103.7 2 weeks ago.  It only lasted 1 day and was only that high once during that time, but it sucked.  Whenever N gets teeth she also gets a diaper rash.  No idea how butts correlate with teeth, but it's been all 3 teeth.  Babies are weird.

    From what I gather, their saliva becomes more acidic and that plus excess drool causes them to swallow more of it and their poop also becomes more acidic.  Did you do the Motrin and Tylenol combo to lower her temp?  I've gotta get some Motrin today, all I have is Tylenol.

    I usually just stick with Motrin.

    DS currently has 7 teeth. I've only noticed a fever of about 100 when he got his 1st two. Those were the worst for him. He hasn't been a super drooler or had a diaper rash either. It's so strange how each LO is so different! I hope you get some answers and it's just teething!

    We are dealing with this same rash. Every so often one of the girls gets this rash and it lasts for a few days then goes away. They are teething but have no teeth yet so it could be due to that.

    We haven't had a fever with teething though.

    Omg this is exactly what is happening to my son. His diaper rash started Tues night...it was his whole butt. Then since Wed it is just in the crack with a couple small sores. Then today he has been cranky all day which he never is and had a temp of 101.3 this afternoon. He has been sleeping all day and refuses to let me lay him down, so I will be sleeping on the couch with him. You think its all teething? Thats crazy.
