Babies: 9 - 12 Months

11 months and still no teeth!

DD has been teething for months it seems. I currently see four coming in under the gums on the bottom, but they just won't cut! She seems so miserable and sleep has taken a turn for the worst.

My question is: Do any of your LO's still have no teeth? If they do have their teeth, is it normal for them to take 2-3 months to break through the gums?!

  • Yes that's normal! My son was teething what seemed like MONTHS!!! Once they started cutting through it hasn't stopped!! We're about to have 6 in just 2 months!

I found I could see them moving up, but once there was a bump at the edge of the gum it was only a couple weeks until they cut through.

A lot of my friends say things that they thought were teething before, like drool, chewing, etc, weren't. The real teething was obvious.

DS has only had a hard time with one of his four teeth and god, the drool was unreal. He was drooling normally from maybe 3 to 6 months and then stopped. When his first top tooth came in, it was soooo much worse than before. It was literally just running out of his mouth. The front of his gums were bruised for a couple days about a week before the teeth cut.

  • Totally normal! We're on our way to 11 months and toothless. No worries :o)
