2 girls (maybe late teens/early 20's) were talking in the change room at the pool. I was in a stall and overhead their conversation:
Girl 1: Do you like the name Raelynn?
Girl 2: Ew gross, are you serious, that's an awful name.
Girl 1: My mom said so too
Girl 2: I like the name Ryder for a boy AND for a girl. It's so cute.
Me in my head: Ryder? For a girl? Like, Ride her??? ::facepalm::
Sorry, Kimbus. That's all I've got right now. Work is work today. There's been some tragic news in the community so waiting to hear about the outcomes of that and we're expecting freezing rain and snow tonight, so kinda hoping for a snow day tomorrow, which would mean two long week-ends in a row! The thought of snow makes me sick, but if I can get a day off then I can handle it. It won't last anyway.
Re: As heard at the pool . . .
A man (former Grand Chief of this group of First Nation people) fell through the ice and got swept under. His nephew couldn't save him without also going under. Apparently they have just recovered the body which is good because this time of year it can be really unlikely.
His step kids are in my school as well as his daughter who is in Kindergarten. Big extended family too
That's awful - T&Ps to the family.
