Ovulation counting question

Ladies, I have a couple of days at the beginning of AF that are spotting at best before the full flow starts.  What day do you consider the official first day of AF in order to count ovulation... The first sign of spotting or the full flow?  I've asked my RE before and understandly so, the question kind of gets pushed off because we are focusing on my DH's problems right now.  I finally splurged on one of those fertility monitors this month, so I want to get this right.  Thank you!

IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled 
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14
FET #1 Mar 2016- baby boy due 12/16/16

    I think it is supposed to be the first day of bright red flow.

    First day of full on flow. No spotting.

    Me: 34 - Hydrosalpinx DH: 33
    Previous history
    IUI switched to TI x6 = BFN
    IUI x2 = BFN
    Essure procedure for hydro

    New starts

    *Possibly starting clomid in Sept or Oct
