help...double stroller options

I am looking for the best option for a double stroller. I need one that will fit my toddler (20lb) and  fit a car seat for the new baby. I have heard really bad things about graco seats being hard to get in and out of the base and hard to get on and off of the stroller. I have looked and looked for something that isn't crazy expensive and will fit my babies comfortably.

Re: help...double stroller options

  • I have a Graco SnugRide 32 car seat and a Graco DuoGlider double stroller and I'm actually very happy with them both. It's not difficult to snap the seat into the base, and not too difficult on the stroller, either. I think that some of the larger models of Graco seats (SnugRide35, I think?) might be a tighter squeeze on the stroller, but the regular SnugRide should fit well.

  • So do you have a Graco carseat?  I can't really tell from your post.

There are many options and you have to figure out if you want side by side or tandem.  Also, don't totally rule out "more expensive" strollers.  You can often find a good deal on a used high-end stroller for the same price as the cheaper stuff.  I personally had a Baby Jogger City Select and a BOB Duallie.  I have since sold my BJCS and still use my Duallie every once in awhile.

  • I did not buy my car seat yet because I want to get one that is comparable with whatever stroller I get. Graco told me that only the click connect car seat would fit any of their double strollers.

You don't have to buy a Graco stroller or Chicco stroller to use your Graco or Chicco car seat with it.  Lots of other companies make adapters that will allow you to use the seat with their stroller.  Personally I love my Chicco Keyfit but I haven't used anything else.  Check nobetterdeal.com for car seats.  They have GREAT prices!

For the stroller, I have a Bumbleride Indie Twin and I love it.  I like the Valco Snap Dual as well if you need something more lightweight.  There are lots of nice options and like the PP said, I would look for something used that's high quality.

  • I have the Britax B-ready (w/rumble seat) and Chaperone car seat.  I like them both a lot, however, if I did it all over again I would probably get the Chicco Keyfit car seat because the Chaperone is SO heavy.  That carseat would still work with the b-ready so I think I would still have gotten the same stroller.

  • I bought the Contours Options LT double stroller. It fits my Graco Snugride 35 fine (as well as many many other brands). It was highest rated in Baby Bargains, and a few friends recommended it as well. I liked that the seats snap in and out so easy and can be positioned in many different ways and the price is VERY reasonable.

I have a Britax car seat and the Britax B Agile double that it snaps right into. I LOVE this stroller and have yet to find something I don't like about it.

I have the britax bagile double and a graco snug ride 35. We use the car seat adapter and it works fine. I like the stroller a lot, but I'd get a britax carseat, seems easier. We already had the graco and didn't want to buy another car seat.
