1) With the honey-do list post, what is your LEAST favorite household chore? What chore do you actually enjoy doing (if any)? (I may have asked this before, forgive me...)
2) OK, desert island but you can pick a few things to bring with you... provided you are given a way to watch/listen already, what 3 CDs/album downloads and 3 movies would you want to bring with you?
3-5 are you

Personally, if I never had to do any landscape/mowing work, I'd not miss it. If we could afford to hire someone to maintain the outside of the house, I so totally would. Cleaning up my oldest son's toys seems like a pointless exercise currently, as when I do it when he's napping it stays clean, but shortly after he wakes, it looks just like it did before. I need to start teaching him to clean up after himself daily. I don't mind doing laundry.
2) OK, desert island but you can pick a few things to bring with you... provided you are given a way to watch/listen already, what 3 CDs/album downloads and 3 movies would you want to bring with you?
CDs: Stone Temple Pilots "Purple", reminds me of a period of my life I look back at fondly, Metallica "Master of Puppets"... my favorite album from my favorite band and the 3rd would probably be either an early Pearl Jam album (either Ten or Vs.) or Guns N Roses "Appetite For Destruction".
Movies: Airplane! That movie, no matter how often I see it, makes me laugh. The Shawshank Redemption. Just a really well done movie that if I see it on the cable guide, I always seem to stop and watch. The Avengers. While it has some minor flaws, a really well done super hero movie and just something to lose myself in for a few hours. Anything Kevin Smith and the Star Wars movies (original trilogy) are the honorable mentions.
3) One thing that always struck me as a flaw in the Avengers wasn't Marvel's fault, but the final battle sequence took place in New York City. New York City is home of MULTIPLE super heroes. None of them showed up to help. No Daredevil, no Fantastic Four, no Spider-man, no X-Men who live just upstate and have a jet at the ready. I know that they are all property of other movie studios, and hence weren't readily available for Marvel to just throw in without having to compensate Sony, Fox, etc., but it is one of those little things that bothered me after the movie was over. I always seem to find little things like this in "big" movies. I don't even own a single comic book, owned a couple as a kid, but nothing substantial, and I know that those heroes should have been showing up to help out Iron Man, Captain America and company.
4) Youngest son is starting to smile. Forgot how awesome little baby smiles are. Oldest is starting to show even more interest in his little brother. He's tried to pick him up and put him in his lap a few times... unfortunately he's not strong enough to do it yet, so I have to pull him away, but it is cool to see them bond.
5) Time flies when you have kids. I can't believe it is May already. My work week seems to go by quick and my days off even faster. I can't believe I'm less than 2 weeks away from having a 3 month old and about a month and a half away from having a 2 1/2 year old.
1. As much as I complain about yard work, I actually like being outside. I hate cleaning the basement/litter box area. Our basement is a disaster of monumental proportions and at this point requires at least 8-10 hours of concerted effort to clean and organize. We have a lot of unwanted crap that ends up in that abyss and hopefully our upcoming garage sale will help.
2. For music I would take "Aenima" by Tool, "Transistor" by 311, and "The Fragile" by NIN. For movies, Terminator 2, The Dark Knight, the original Dawn of the Dead. The Lord of the Rings trilogy would also be nice to bring.
3. I had been doing P90X but stopped because it has become a little monotonous. I've completed the program 4 times since I've owned it so I've decided to start a round of Insanity instead. I tried it once and quit after 2 weeks so I hope to actually make it through this time. It's hard as hell.
4. Last year my wife accidentally sprayed the dandelions and thistles in our front yard with Round Up...the kind that kills weeds AND grass. Since then we have about 7-10 dead dirt spots that I cannot get grass to grow on. I've tried two different brands of patching and nothing works. Plus it is so hard to mow around them without ruining baby grass.
5. We're about 95% done with our registry. I think we just have to add some odds and ends for home safety and a few more bath-related things. Our crib and mattress have arrived at the store so the nursery will actually start to take shape now. Sh!ts getting real.
With the way Daredevil and Fantastic Four were presented in their movies, I would rather not see them anywhere near something as awesome as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's a shame because without the rights to Fantastic Four, we ended up with a Tesseract instead of the Cosmic Cube, Chitauri instead of the Skrulls, and going forward we will not see Silver Surfer, Galactus, etc.

My least favorite is cleaning bathrooms. Thankfully my wife usually does that. I actually like doing dishes. This is partly because my wife is not good at it. I end up having to rewash things anyway so I'd rather just do it first.
2) OK, desert island but you can pick a few things to bring with you... provided you are given a way to watch/listen already, what 3 CDs/album downloads and 3 movies would you want to bring with you?
Phish - Rift, Grateful Dead - American Beauty, Rusted Root - Cruel Sun
Sean of the Dead, The Princess Bride, Season 3 of Arrested Development
3) We finally have the nursery put together and organized and we have to rip out half of the closet. We are in the process of getting a re-fi done and our appraisal is on Monday. They needs access to the attic and the only way to get up there is through the closet in the nursery. We have a bunch of shelves set up beneath it that need to be removed. Real pain in the rear.
4) Because of the appraisal I am trying to get the front yard looking better. I have a lot of work to do in the next few days.
5) We had another OB appointment yesterday afternoon. My wife is now mostly effaced, but not dilated. So we had slight progress, but nothing exciting.
I agree that those movies weren't very good.
From what I hear, they are planning a full on reboot of the Fantastic Four. It is part of the contract that the studios sign that if they don't make a movie in X amount of years, the film rights to the characters revert back to Marvel. It is why we saw a Spider-man reboot, the X-Men First Class movie and are now likely to see a Fantastic Four reboot in the near future.
There is also rumor that Sony and Marvel may work on a collaboration of some sort to allow Spider-man to participate in an Avengers sequel. Apparently Falcon is showing up in the Thor movie due out late this year, and Marvel is talking about doing a couple Marvel short films on smaller characters such as Dr. Strange and such to introduce them, probably so they can be brought into a potential Avengers sequel without having to a back story.
This next phase is going to get weird. I'm not sure how I feel about Guardians of the Galaxy...just something about an anthropomorphic raccoon shooting a gun. I don't understand how that fits with the Avengers.
Did you see Iron Man 3 yet? I haven't and I'm kind of worried because everyone I know has hated it.
Yeah I've heard really mixed reviews. Making me nervous. I tend to have lower standards for movies though. I just want to be entertained.
Iron Man 3 is the big starting point for Phase 2 and I can't believe Marvel/Disney would release a movie that would fail at the beginning, especially with their top property. Maybe I will like the movie since my expectations have been lowered. That's what happened when I saw Boondock Saints 2.
I have yet to see it myself, might get a chance if my mom will watch the boys this Sunday after her mother's day brunch. I've heard some people thought it was really good, others thought it fell flat.
I don't know anything about Guardians of the Galaxy other than I never read the book and it has a anthropomorphized raccoon. I'll probably skip that one. Not sure if they plan on tying it into the Avengers universe or keep it more on its own. Not sure why they want to focus on that when they have other properties that people know better.
It's the last movie in Phase 2 before Avengers 2. It's all related to Thanos at the end of Avengers. I'm not really familiar but look at this picture and tell me it's not at least slightly ridiculous...
1) I'm mostly ok with taking out the trash. I HATE the diaper pail. It's on the second floor. I actually try to just put the poopy diaps I change straight in the outdoor trash can individually.
2) This is really tough. For discs I'll go with Pearl Jam's Vs., Abba Gold, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. For Movies... Empire Strikes Back, The Godfather and Clerks.
3) The weather here has been really weird lately
4) We discovered there is a surprisingly good Indian restaurant in a strip mall less than 5 miles from our house. Score!
5) I also can't believe how fast time has flown with DS. I'm really appreciating the whole "treasure these moments while they last" cliche.
ABBA...interesting. I shouldn't judge because of my love for early 90's dance music (C&C Music Factory, Le Bouche, Haddaway, etc.) but man, I don't know about ABBA.
I wanted to mix it up. 3 discs of all hard rock would get old really fast. And I gave bonus points to greatest hits discs. Maybe I could have taken a more modern dance mix CD like Daft Punk or something.
Maybe some hardcore dub step?
(Sorry, still don't know how to insert a hyperlink)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.
I am way too old for Dubstep. I do not like the wub wub wub wub.
