Does anyone have this stroller? Do you like it or do you wish you had bought something different?
We are looking at it, I'm concerned about the possibility of a flat tire since we would mostly be taking it out on rough trails and gross city streets rather than tracks or suburban sidewalks.
Re: Baby Jogger Summit XC
I think you'll find that if you get a large full size all terrain stroller you are also going to want something small and light for the car or errands.
Honestly, the bulk is an issue. Both the BOB Revolution and the BJ Summit are very similar in size, weight and handling. If you are primarily strolling on the trails and suburban sidewalks and storing it in a garage, its great stroller: it pushes effortlessly, it's so smooth and turns on a dime. If you want to negotiate store isles, a busy mall, have to carry it up stairs or on public transport, it's a beast.
We have a standard size umbrella stroller for when I want something light and quick and for when we travel.
That's what I was afraid of. We have a snap and go right now that we use ALL THE TIME. At times I get annoyed with that in a store trying to get around people. But maybe if I can keep her in that until she's 30 lbs and get the Summit for non-shopping trips then I can get an umbrella stroller after she outgrows the snap and go.
So many stroller decisions.
I don't want to come off negatively but it's really not ideal for babies to spend a lot of time in the car seat. It should be used for the car mostly. Also, your baby is most likely going to outgrow the seat in length before height and I can just say from personal experience that hauling a 20 lb kid in the car seat stinks.
I would sell the SNG and get a decent lightweight. The Uppababy G-Luxe is very well liked for example. Also, the push on your SNG cannot be that good so I bet if you get a decent quality umbrella you'll be happier with that. I have the Cybex Onyx and I can use it with my car seat which is awesome however, it's not very light at 17 lbs. You could look into the Valco Snap or Snap 4 which are lightweight, small and can take a car seat also.
Thanks
I should clarify by ALL THE TIME I mean when we are running around. Obviously my child is not in a car seat all day. I usually wear her but when we are getting in and out of the car running weekend errands and she's asleep it is just easy to use the snap and go than wake her when I am shifting her from a car seat to the ergo or moby.
I do the same thing! It saves me during quick errands! That's why I got the Onyx... can use the car seat for something quick or I can put the baby or my toddler in if I need to.
