Babies: 3 - 6 Months

It's almost crib time!

Hey all. I am jumping over from the 0 to 3 month board to ask how you all went about or are going about transitioning your little one to his or her crib. My son is 7 weeks and will be outgrowing his bassinet sooner than we thought. We probably have a bit more time before he really doesn't fit but figured we should start trying now so hopefully it's not such a shock later. TIA.

  • I just told LO one evening that I was going to put him in his crib for the night...and did. He was fine. He was 4 or 5 weeks old.

It might have helped that after diaper changes I would lay him in it while I washed my hands.  He has never had an issue.

I traveled alone with Eryn at 5 weeks for a funeral.  I realized that she slept better when my DH wasn't snoring beside her.  We got home when she was seven weeks, and I put her in her crib that night and never looked back.  It was the decision that worked for us.  She started sleeping longer stretches and sleeping from 8 pm to 6 am at three and a half months, eating and going down for another hour or two.  She dropped the 6 AM bottle at 6 and a half months and now goes straight through.
