Long time Lurker, finally got the courage to say hello and a ??

I have been a lurker on this board since this time last year and have enjoyed reading your encouraging words and struggles. I was due in December, but DD decided to make an early appearance at 35 weeks on November 10th, so she is a day shy of 6 months. She is the light of my life and can't imagine it without her now.

Now, for my question.

She is bottle fed breast milk, but we started green veggies about 2.5 weeks ago. Since then she has only been having a BM once a week and that's with some rectal stem because I get nervous. My question, today is day seven, doc says rectal stem, but I am wondering if I should just ride it out another day and see if she will go on her own. She shows no signs of discomfort, and when she has gone in the last few weeks it has been soft. Thoughts??

My pedi advised me when we started solids to give K no more than an ounce of water in a 24 hour period, every so often. Call your pedi and ask if there are any other ways to help her go if you no longer want to do what you have been doing. He has been on solids for 1.5 months and has a BM every day.

Thanks for your reply, I have tried pureed prunes and juice (about 2oz a day in her bottle). I have been leaning towards waiting. She has her 6 month well check on Monday as well, so I can talk to the doc again if we are still waiting.

Is her belly firm at all? Is she gassy? And she's definitely not fussy? I think for me, if she seemed totally fine and comfortable and it hasn't been longer then 10 days, then I would wait. Good luck. Do keep us posted. And hang out more often : )

^Yup. This. My pedi says after 10 days to worry, unless LO is in distress or his belly is puffed and firm.

I would wait it out. As long as LO isn't uncomfortable and is still eating and otherwise behaving normally.

I lurked the December, November, and January boards. My Lena Belle decided to land in November so as she developed I found I had the most I common with you ladies.
