Who BFs but supplements?
Just curious who everyone was. If you supplement with formula, when do you do it, how much, what do you use, etc?
DD gets 5-10 ounces of formula each day she is at daycare (and 10-15 of breastmilk). I am lucky that my supply has stayed up such that I can BF full time when we are together. I just grew so tired of pumping 3-4 times a day and it was interfering with work and my mental health. Formula has been great to take the edge off my obsessive thoughts around pumping. We have been using Similac since we had free samples (still using those) and will probably continue with that since we only have to buy one container a month.
On that note, have you seen Similac for Supplementation?

Re: Who BFs but supplements?
I do! I do!
The girls get anywhere from four ounces a day to ten ounces each, depending on my supply that day. I decided not to kill myself over making enough for them, so they have been supplementing from the beginning. Agree supplementing is great for my mental health! We just use Enfamil since that's what the hospital started them on.
I've never seen the Similac for Supplementation. I wonder what the difference is, nutritionally, from regular formula?
With my older DD, I could only BF about 50 of the time, I had a low supply, so used about 50 Enfamil until my milk dried up at 6 months, then only formula after that.
I do!! Well kind of...
I EP and supplement. I pump twice a day and pull from the stock I have in my freezer from when I was pumping every 3 hours. She gets formula at night. She had some reflux and would scream whenever should would lay down after eating. The pedi suggested trying formula at night since keeping her upright for 30 mins was tough. The weight of the formula helps it stay down. Her last feeding before bed was 4 oz formula for a while, but lately I've been giving her 4 oz formula plus 2 oz milk. Her motn feeding(s) are 4 oz formula. Sometimes she has a rough day with the reflux and I'll give her formula those days too. We started her on similac sensitive I had samples of. Switched to Gerber samples and she got so constipated and cranky. We switched back to the similac sensitive and so far so good. I've got a sample can of the blue similac but I'm terrified to try it.
I've never seen the similac for supplementation! It isn't in my Target as of Monday night. I wonder if its really that different than regular Similac. I bet they charge an extra $2 per container for it!!
Totally agree with you, its probably a scam. I wonder how much profit they make on formula, its got to be huge.
Not dumb at all! I was so lost when I started regardless of the fact that the pedi gave me step by step instructions. You could start by making 2 oz formula and mixing with a few oz breast milk just to see how she tolerates it.
He's not in daycare I work from home.
my lil one takes four 7oz bottles every 3 hours or so and 2 are formula, he also has one serving of oatmeal, fruit and veggie that I make via baby magic bullet
