Holding up okay! Mornings are always better than the late nights. Uterus is a lot more calm. Someone came over to help and I asked them to fold a small pile of towels and sheets on the couch. They were literally rolling the sheets around their arms to "fold" them. Ugh. Lol. At least they are in the cupboard and my husband doesn't have to do it. I think taking care of twins, moving into a new house and fixing some people's "help" will be a lot to handle. Some people are great helpers but some are like, ahhhh!!!! Been on BR 5 weeks today. One third of the way there! Praise God!!
Married to my dream husband
Mom to 2 year old BG twins (Incompetant cervix, cerclage, and LOTS of bed rest)
Struggling. Today is day 3 of hospital bed rest and day 10 of overall bed rest. I feel like a victim of torture - sleep deprivation, stuck in one place, poked and prodded. They have me on magnesium sulfate to help calm my irritated uterus. Mag's side effects include hot flashes (it feels like I'm sleeping on 3 heating pads), anxiety (I thought my heart was going to pound out of my chest last night), headache and nausea. They administer it with fluids so on the plus side I'm well hydrated, on the minus side it means I have to constantly pee. Between the vitals check every 4 hours and constant peeing I think I got a few chunks of sleep in 2 hour intervals. I guess this is prepping me for motherhood! Plus I really need to poo but am constipated, am worried about popping my cerclage, and have a roommate who does nothing but lie in her bed.
Ugh. This will all be worth it in the end but today is a challenge.

Bored bored. Today is slow again. NICU drs came by today and after hearing all of the potential complications with early babies I am determined to keep them in until 35 weeks.
Was originally rainy but now it's sunny.
Maybe I'll take a nap...

I can feel your pain, your situation absolutely stinks. I have been hospitalized twice now, and it is nearly unbearable. I don't have anything to say to make you feel better other than, there are a few people here in the hospital too so you are not alone. Maybe that is some comfort.
As for me, I am home again after my quick 1 night hospital stay earlier this week. After a couple of attempts with different drugs, they were able to stop my contractions. I never thought I would be so excited to lay on my couch again. Our goal after hitting 28 weeks was making it to 32... Now that has been changed to 30 weeks. I hope we make it to 30!
Expecting twins! Put on strict bedrest at home after preterm labor at 22 weeks. Hospitalized at 22 weeks and again at 29 weeks. No more please!

The magnesium sulfate drip is rough. Hang in there!!!
Felt a little low yesterday. DH takes good care of me by making food and cleaning up, but he has been really distant and avoids spending time with me when he is home. I completely understand that BR is boring, there is no TV upstairs, and it's weird to eat in bed, but I'm feeling a little lonely. This could be a long few weeks. Thank goodness for the Netflix app on my phone.
I'm in the hospital too and you couldn't have put it any better... I didn't have mag, but my fluids are low so I have been in ivs for 4 days now! I smell awful and feel like my tush is going to be permenantly imprinted in this bed! I wake up wondering where I am if i can finally doze off! I know its all for the safety of the baby and of course I would do anything, but this is tricky... I'm just not good at staying still!
Thanks for the understanding, ladies. Not that I wish the circumstances on anyone but it is helpful to know that there are other who are going through similar things.
DH came by this afternoon and that helped. He got in bed with me with the intention of us napping but just he ended up getting some sleep. Men! *wink* Still it was nice to be with him and have the physical connection. Tomorrow he won't be able to see me until after dinner but again something to look forward too.

I'm sorry. How long have you been on bedrest? Could you tell him you are feeling lonely and ask if he might lie down/cuddle with you for a while? Or is moving to the couch for part of the day an option?

I'm sorry - that sounds rough. The magnesium sounds really tough. I remember feeling this way in the hospital last time (no rest etc) but this time I am just bored. My nurses skip the overnight vitals check so I can sleep - not sure if that is an option for you? Re const are you taking colace? A lot of bedrest women do. I usually just eat bran cereal daily and a lot of fruit, especially cantaloupe, but I take colace occasionally if I need it.

Re: Thursday Bed Rest Check in
I took an hour nap yesterday afternoon then couldn't sleep last night!
Finally started dozing on and off, but never really got good sleep.
Heading to the Dr. in a little bit to check on the girls' TTTS update...so that's something to look forward to and praying for good news!
