Our twins are not walking yet...should I be concerned? They "walk" with their push toys and our daughter "walks" on her knees but they're not walking.
We had our 15 month appointment today and the doctor casually mentioned that we will keep an eye on our son walking on his tip toes and not to be concerned...yet. So clearly now I'm concerned.
Also, they say "mama" "dada" and "dog" but that's it.
Any late walkers/talkers out there?
Re: 15 month old twins: not walking
My almost 17 mo old isn't soley walking. He crawls and will walk back and forth between people to show off his skill so to speak. He will not walk independently. Our Pedi isn't worried until 18 mo.
As far as words the pedi was more concerned that he understood what we were saying rather than DS actually being able to say words to us. Also pedi counted signs as words.
She didn't even pull herself up on furniture until she was 8 months, didn't crawl until 7. I freaked out constantly because to this day she still has never conquered her walker! I mean, we don't use it now, but when she was in it she would only go backwards. She's all up to date and ahead for her vocabulary.
Don't worry, I'm sure they're just taking their time :]
DH has seven siblings and they had a wide range of starting to walk, like 10-16 months. They can all walk now. 15 months is longer than average but still within a normal range.
As for the talking, totally normal. Neither of my kids said more than three words (or even that many) at 15 months. I wouldn't call that late talking at all. Receptive language is more important, and it's just at 15 months that I could tell they were starting to understand what I said. DD had a vocabulary explosion around 20 months but really didn't say much before that. I think DS will follow the same pattern; at 17.5 months he can follow simple instructions, but only says a few words.
Our DD wasn't walking until 16 months. Doctor wasn't worried until 18 months. She just waited until she felt very secure doing it and I have to say, we haven't really had much in the way of falls as she is pretty stable.
And DD didn't say much until closer to the 18 month mark. Suddenly in the last month she is having a talking explosion...new words come out every single day.
Don't stress...although I know it is easier said than done.

I wouldn't be concerned at all. My pedi also said 1-5 words by 15 months so they are on track if that is correct!
And my son just started crawling and pulling up last week so I was freaking out just a little too. He still doesn't cruise really but can stand independently for about 10 seconds. FWIW, when my DH was a baby he didn't walk until 16-17 months. I went from crawling one week to walking the next. I bet your kiddos will be walking before you know it.
ETA: About the talking, I know my DS is younger than yours but he understands way more than he says. Right now his only real word is DaDa.
