Our DD will be 5 months on the 17th. At her 4 month checkup her Pediatrician stated she was teething because of the drooping, runny diapers, chewing on everything non stop, etc but did not reccomend or approve teething tablets, tylenol, or baby orajel even though she is extremely fussy (if I pull my hand away from her mouth while she is chewing and sucking on it, she has a fit). Her Pediatrician simply said cold wash rags and teething toys are sufficient.
I know every pediatrician is different and every mom makes their own call, but I curious if anyone is using teething tablets, baby orajel, or tylenol without the "OK" from you pediatrician? I feel like I am letting her "suffer" and be "cranky" because of her teeth. I have read the pros and cons but I wanted to see other mom's thoughts as well.
Thanks!!

We used Tylenol 4x over the course of two bottom teeth coming in. I'm not a fan of giving medication to kids, but there were days he was really miserable. We basically only gave it when he just seemed like he was at his wits end.
I didn't used Oragel or Teething tablets. Oragel has a warning which scared me and the teething tablets were recalled by the FDA because of varying doses of Belladonna. Belladonna can be deadly. Obviously not in the doses that are on the box, but the varying doses scared me.
He really did/does love cold wash cloths and chewing his blankets.
I've heard teething necklaces work really well, but never tried them. He is teething again with his two front teeth and is dealing much better.
My lo has been teething for weeks and likes cold/warm wash clothes, blankies, teethers in the fridge and my fingers loo

We use teething tablets first, which normally help, and then use Tylenol as a last resort. Here is a helpful link to explain the recall of the teething tablets: https://www.mommymadegreen.com/hylands-teething-tablets-recall-education-repost/
We were specifically told not to use orajel as there had been some infant deaths from it and that it wasnt worth the risk.
We did get the ok for tylenol though
I would agree with that to a point. But, every pedi I have had for my children automatically gave me a sheet with the proper dosages for infants. So I consult a paper.
