STROLLER????

Okay so I have a double stroller my sister gave me that she used for her twin boys.  Its the Eddie Bauer back and front stroller and it is a piece of crap!!!  I HATE it so much. ( although I don't complain to my sister about it as it was free for me ) I can't turn it ever actually I have to pick up the back end to make turns easy.  I also hate tat when you are driving straight it makes randoms turns and pulls from one side to another.  It has messed up my shoulder as I am always trying to compensate for it.  Just wondering you opinions of side by side strollers? Are they a pain in the butt in stores?  which stroller do you love and hate and why? I really want to get one that will last my b/g twins until they are like 4.
Thanks for your advice can't wait to hear it all.

  • I hate Tandems. I adore my Combi Twinsport. It is a little tight in stores, but it fits through a standard doorway. It also folds so easily!

  • We got the Bumbleride Indie Twin. Tested it out at the store and it was by far our favorite. Now we just need the twins here this fall!

  • Baby Jogger City Mini Double!  love it, even though my twins are technically a little small for it, they love it too.  It fits into doorways.  It's light.  You can practically close it with one hand.  Very convenient

this is what we have used exclusively since the girls outgrew their infant carriers around 6 months....I have LOVED it - so easy to maneuver, fits through doorways, folding/putting it in the car takes only a second, seats fold down for naps and sunshades are great...basket underneath is ok and I did buy the parent console seperately...all in all I am really glad we went with it...I still use it on the rare occassion and my girls will be 4 in less than a month.

  • We love our City Mini. It fits through standard doorways, turns easily and rides smoothly. The only issue in stores is if the racks are close together, but that's also an issue with tandems. My solution for tight fit stores is wear one, push other in an umbrella. I definitely rec the City Mini though. Super easy to fold down and store too!

It is kind of misleading but the brand name is "Baby Jogger" - the City Mini Double is actually not a jogging stroller at all.  In fact we actually laughed when we read the instructions and it said not to go over 3 miles per hour :)

We have the BJCM and also just bought a Kinderwagon Hop for shopping.  It is a front to back tandem with a really small footprint since it has stadium seating.  It folds down to just a little bigger than an umbrella stroller - we love it so far!

  • The baby jogger city mini and city mini GT are NOT meant to be used for jogging. The manual clearly states that. They were designed like joggers for ease of use,and for those that like that look.

I hated my chicco tandem. Love our city mini gt double, for the reasons pp mentioned above.
  • We just purchased aNEW CLASSIC DOUBLE EUROPEAN BABY STROLLER, ALL TERRAIN TWIN PRAM, VS Bugaboo bob off of ebay. it was pricey, over $400 with shipping, but so worth the money. i cant wait to use it, it has all the bells and whistles, is less than 30" wide so it will fit through most any door and will hold up to 80lbs. you do have to remove the wheels to collapse it, but its just the push of a button and the wheels dont turn so its four wheels that act like a jogging stroller but that aside its amazing. i believe the seller has more listed if your interested. it was our big purchase, next to one more car seat. (we have a two year old so we dont need a ton of extra stuff) good luck i hope you find a good one!

I have that exact stroller and haven't had any problems with it. Other than it is a pain to open. and when I first got it it confused me on how to set it up. But after like the first week I love it. Like any tandem stroller will it makes wide turns but not near as bad as the car carts at publix.
  • Hi,

I've also been looking at strollers - I'm wondering if all you ladies who liked the BJCM used something different when your twins were newborns, or if you used it right from the start?

I'm wondering if I need a separate stroller for infancy that I can just pop the car seats in (like a snap and go) and then the BJCM, or if it's less hassle to just have one stroller and take the babies out of their carseats and put them in the reclining position on the BJCM?

I don't have a BJCM, but Snap and Go all the way! Seriously, it's the only stroller you need for the first four months.

  • I have the Peg Perego duette double stroller. I just had my twins so I have not been able to put into use. However, I have played with it around the house and I like how it maneuvers. It is pricey at $800.00(baby shower gift from my sister in law) but that is the one we put on our registry because we did not like any of the other double strollers on the market.
