Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Transition advice please

So LO is almost 3 and a half months. Still swaddled and sleeping in her RnP. I would like to transition out of both. What would you recommend? Unswaddle and put in the crib or one thing at a time. I'm not sure what to do first either? She looks kinda scrunched in her RnP so id like to get her out if it but I'm also so afraid to stop swaddling. I've tried both periodically and have failed but I know we're now getting to a point where I don't have a choice. TIA

Re: Transition advice please

  • What we did was put DD in the crib swaddled and let her get used to the crib, then we started the de-swaddling process.

  • I think that swaddling in the crib for a bit till they get used to that would probably be best. The crib is a wide open space for them compared to the rock and play. For us, we stopped swaddling around two weeks. He kept fighting to get out of it when he would fall asleep. However, we did use the rock and play for about 2 months before transitioning to his crib. When we did the transition, we would have him sleep the first half of the night in the crib and then when he would wake up for his midnight feeding, we would put him in his rock and play. We did this for probably about two weeks and then started using the crib full time.
