do you give to front desk/directors for teacher appreciation week?

just curious...they're all teachers also (I think...definitely the directors but I'm not quite sure about the other 2), just in a different role...do you do anything for them? I hate to give more food in a week that they are all probably inundated w/ food...

also on a similar note how do you handle walking in w/ gifts fort he regular teachers only to find a floater in there who is not normally in there? Ugh! I feel for the floaters, I'm not sure if they get anything during this time but chances are I won't see her again this week anyway...

  • DS has 2 main teachers and a couple others that rotate.  For Valentine's Day, I bought a canister of cookies for all his teachers just in case there was a sub in for one of them that day.  I plan on getting them something this week that they can all share.

  • How are the directors teachers?  Shouldn't they be directing?  We're only getting gifts for the two main teachers in DD's room.  There is a Boss Appreciation Day in October so I'm sure the director is taken care of.

I guess b/c I am a nurse even though I work in an administrative role (unless you feel that makes me no longer a nurse?) so I consider someone whose original career a teacher even if they're in an administrator role.

I don't. However, there is a potluck for the entire staff that I participate in.

DS is in pre-kindergarten at an elementary school.  I did give gifts to his three teachers and I'll give a card to the principal at the end of the year.  I will give a gift to one of the office workers at the end of the year only because she did some drop-in sitter services for us and refused to accept payment.

I brought a bunch of bagels and cream cheese for DH's current teachers as well as his previous ones (they share a kitchen area and I really liked his infant teachers, and didn't get to do TAW last year with them). I also thanked the Director and invited her to have some as well. I figured that would account for subs and floaters.
