Fetal heart rate

My baby's heart rate is usually over 140bpm. However, now it's gone down to 127bpm. This is still within the normal range of 110 to 160 but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this as you got near to your due date?

I meant to ask my MW but didn't get the opportunity. I'm 38w1d.

ETA: I should add that my MW took these vitals yesterday and wasn't concerned but I wished I'd asked about why it had slowed down.

    my lo's heart rate was measuring low at 120 the other day and dr. said this is normal so close to delivery.

    I have a home Doppler and my babies heart rate has always fluctuated a bit. I wouldn't worry at all!

    My son's was between 135-150 up until about 36 weeks. From there I was seeing numbers in the 120s. I asked my MW about it, and she said it was completely normal. She said inside baby was preparing to be an outside baby, and that his heart rate may start coming down because of that.

    Thanks, that's really good to know. Every little change etc makes me anxious this close to the end. I just want her here now where I can see her.

    Hi,

    I also experienced the same thing -- HR was always in the 140s/150s and last week at 37 weeks, dropped down to 120s/130s -- even dipped into the 118 range for a bit.

    My OB hooked me up to the fetal monitor for a while and once I drank some lemonade, the baby got more active again.

    It was definitely stressful at the time but I feel better because it is apparently normal for this to happen so close to delivery!!!! Hard to believe it's coming so soon!

    I noticed that at yesterday's appt too. Baby's hr had been around 135-140, and yesterday it was right around 120.  The doc didn't seem concerned, so I didn't think to ask, but it seems like others have had this happen too!

    no worries- my little girl has fluctuated as well. As long as it is in range you are good-

    Thanks, I think the worry comes from the fact that she's slowing down now as well as there's very little room left. My main movements seem to be pushes very low down and bum and leg shifts up high. I just want her here where I can see she's fine now.

    Same thing happened with my LO, she was born perfectly healthy.  Nothing to worry about.

    I get twice weekly non-stress tests and baby boy's heart fluctuates between 120 - 170, depending on when he's having accelerations, resting rate, he's moving around, etc. so I don't think it's anything to worry about.

    I had constant fetal monitoring for 3 days due to high blood pressure before I was induced. At any given moment her heart rate would be anywhere between 120 and 165. It fluctuated constantly. The nurses kept telling me that was a really good sign of a healthy LO!

    This is very common as you get close to delivery.  My LO heart rate has been in the mid 160s the whole pregnancy, then a couple weeks ago it dropped to mid 150s and yesterday it was 141.  2 more weeks!!!

    I had the exact same thing happen at my last appointment (I was 39w3d). Baby's heart beat is normally over 140 and was 128. My MW wasn't concerned but I was so I asked her about it. She said that it is hard for them to move because they are getting so big so usually now we just hear their resting heart rate and 128 was totally normal and healthy. She said if he was moving around it probably would've been higher, but not to worry at all.
