Having my 2nd section next month. Never drank the "drink" the first go around, but this pregnancy is scheduled for section. What does it taste like? Does it mkae you feel sick even though its supposed to take away the nausea?
If I'm thinking of the correct thing, it just tastes very sour (like in a tart way, no in a spoiled milk way). It's really not terrible and is only about a tablespoon total. I wouldn't worry at all about it.
My hospital gave me a tart orange drink. It wasn't much; however, it didn't work for me. I think having something on my stomach made the nausea worse. It suppose to reduce the acid in your stomach or something of the sort. It is suppose to help with the nausea. It's just one of those things that may or may not affect you.
I was given a very bitter/tart drink before my c section. They said it was supposed to help with stomach acid. Not sure if it was supposed to help with nausea or not, but I still had major nausea for over 24 hours after my daughter was born.
Is that for nausea? I thought it was to neutralize your stomach acid in case of aspiration. They forgot to give it to me with me 2nd but I remember it not tasting good but being a fairly small amount to drink the first time.
It tasted like sour sweet tarts or the outer coating of sour patch kids. nbsp;I drank it down in one shot and am glad I did so. nbsp; It's not horrible, but it isn't something that I would have savored, either.
This but it actually made me sick. I threw up once in my LD room and again in the OR! It just left such a nasty taste in my mouth.

I was already feeling sick due to some meds I was on, so that might have something to do with it.
