When do you start introducing meat & yogurts? I've been on stage 2 foods for a while now and I know some have meats in them but I haven't bought any because I don't know when to introduce. LO will be 8 months Thursday.
We are making our baby food, but I started plain yogurt at 6 months (she LOVES it!) and started mixing it with pureed pears this morning. Will start turkey at 7 months and some other meats at 9 months.

DS started at about 7.5 months for both. We now give him vanilla yogurt as plain tastes like sour cream..it is pretty disgusting. he also now gets some real meat from me and DH.
We are pretty much giving him what we are eating plus some other stuff if we are having something spicy or something he shouldn't have like shelf, but other than that he eats what we are eating (or food that we eat and have in the house.
Our pedi said they are now recommending meat as babies first food. I make my baby food except meats and yogurt. I get full fat Greek yogurt and mix it with fruit or beets. I get the Gerber meats and mix it with veggies bc IMO it's salty and gross otherwise.
In Canada, it is now recommended that meat is started right away. My DD has been eating meat since she was 6 months old. We've had no problems. The only concern would be that some babies don't like the texture of the meats as it is really different from fruits and veggies.

DS turns 6 months tomorrow, but he's had meat and yogurt for 2 weeks now. We started solids at 4m1w with fruits and veggies. He's been tolerating those very well so I added meat and yogurt about a month later. I buy full fat plain yogurt and he gets a spoonful in the morning with fruit.
As for meat, I just feed him meats that I've made. The pureed jarred meats just look icky to me. DS has had chicken and beef, as well as fish, shrimp, and scallops.

DD had yogurt at 6 months. She hasn't had meat yet but that's just because I make my own food and pureed food grosses me out. The doc said she could have had it months ago.
You can introduce them whenever, no need to wait until a certain age. In fact, I believe in Canada it's recommended to introduce meat as one of the FIRST foods!
How do you guys feed your LOs meat? That probably seems like a weird question, but the pureed meat kind of freaks me out. Do you just do purees or do you give them little pieces of some types of meat? FTM & I don't know where to go with it. TIA!
BTW, we started yogurt just about a week ago (the refrigerated YoBaby) and DS destroyed the whole 4 oz in like 5 minutes. He actually grabbed my hand to pull the spoon in his mouth faster! LOL!
I puree LO's meat. It is kind of weird, but I've tasted the jarred pureed meat and frankly it is disgusting. I try not to give LO anything I wouldn't eat. And he still doesn't really feed himself, so puree it is.
The key is to use liquid and cuts of meet with a little more fat (chicken thighs are great). At first I would just throw boneless chicken thighs into the slow cooker with whatever DH and I were eating that evening so they were super tender, and then pureed them with a little no salt added chicken stock. Now that he's eating basically everything, I saute the meat with garlic, onion, celery & carrot and make a little gravy from the drippings with stock, and then puree until a little chunky. I've also made a thick chicken soup and beef soup and pureed that. He gobbles it up.
