Couldn't resist

I gave in and drank coffee for the first time since I found out I was pregnant. I had to. It's so hot out and iced coffee sounded soo amazing. I didn't have any decaf so I just made a cup.
My partner will probably be pissed. He hates when I drink caffeine even when I'm not pregnant and has been so over the top about me not having any for the last couple months.
Maybe I won't mention it. Haha.

Yummmmmm.

Re: Couldn't resist

  • Small amount of caffeine a day directive was given to me by my doctor to combat my nausea and boy has it helped!

  • as far as I knew  and from what my dr told me small amounts of caffeine are ok, you can't avoid every little thing.....how did anyone turn out okay with all the rules and "don't dos" these days?

    why would your Husband be mad? It's just coffee! there are much worse things out there. lol.

    Your partner does not like that you drink caffeine when you are not pregnant? Do you have a medical condition that prohibits you from drinking caffeine? I am curious about your so's objection to caffeine...Also, my husband would get one pretty pised off pregnant woman after him if he told me what I could and could not eat or drink. I am glad you enjoyed your coffee. nbsp;

    Haha no he doesn't like it. I mean he would never tell me not to, he just suggests that I cut back bc of the amount I would typically consume in one day. Prior to becoming pregnant I had a very physically demanding job and would sometimes drink 10 to 15 cups of coffee per day so that's his only thing.
    He has a hard job too and drinks caffeine in the form of red bull so he really has no room to talk though!
    I've been really good about not having or doing things I'm not supposed to do during this pregnancy.. and I kinda think its cute that he's so into what's safe or not for me so I don't get mad about it.
  • Good for you! Coffee is amazing! Decaf is a just a cruel joke. i won't even bother with decaf. Since i got pregnant I can't drink 512 cups a day anymore but I can't just give it up entirely and luckily that isn't necessary.
  • Hey that's ok!!! My dr says stay under 200 mgs per day so I just drink a coke in the am to get started and one shot of espresso to last the rest of the day...I have a 20 month old to chase around!!! That's only 84 mgs a day...so don't worry about your one coffee.
  • I try to limit myself to one caffeinated beverage every other day!  So, good for you for holding out this long and not succumbing to unnecessary guilt over it!

    My caffeine the last three months has been in chocolate form. I gave up caffeinated soda and coffee. But might have to splurge on a coffee soon. I miss it soooo much and the weather has been perfect for my fav iced coffee.

  • I have one or two diet cokes a day and a cup of tea. It's all under 250 mg of caffeine and my OB said its okay.
