Short version: Harrison Liam was born via emergency c-section on Tuesday April 30th at 1:41 am (38w 3d). He was 8lbs 7oz and 20.5 inches long.
Long version: I woke up to some contractions around 4:30am on Monday April 29th but wasn't really sure if it was really "it". I called my midwife and she said she would be over soon to check on me. In the meantime I took DS1 into his room to change his diaper and when I picked him up off his change table my water broke but it wasn't really like I thought it would be. There was a lot of blood, like mostly blood. Anyway, I jumped in the shower to clean off and my DH cleaned up the blood because it was on the carpet. The midwife arrived checked me and I was only 2cm. DH starting filling our birthing tub because my first my labour was super quick and we were expecting the same this time. As the tub was filling the midwife became concerned with the babies heart rate, it was in the 170's and decided we needed to transfer into the hospital. I was pretty bummed out but I also knew that the hospital was the best place for us at this point. Fastforward a few hours and my labour wasn't progressing so we decided on Pitocin. Fastforward a few more hours and it still wasn't progressing. My midwife decided to consult with the OB on call and he suggested an epi and to crank the pitocin. So we did, however, just after I got the epi they realized that my hemoglobin was dangerously low and that the babies heart rate was increasing again and then dipping after each contraction. They decided I needed a blood transfusion and an emergency c-section. At this point I was so freaking scared it wasn't even funny. My DH was awesome though and kept me calm. Anyway, they finally get me into the OR but the epi wasn't working the way they needed it to so I had to be put under. I woke up around 2:30 am (about an hour after DS2 was born) and got to meet my beautiful baby boy Harrision Liam. He was perfect! It turned out that I had a concealed placenta abruption which was causing internal bleeding and somehow (thankfully) was stalling my labour. I am so thankful that we went to the hospital when we did because we could have had a different outcome.
Harrison is 1 week old today and doing awesome! He is tongue tied but we are getting that fixed tomorrow which will help with the nursing and his latch.
2u2 has been a bit tough but we are managing and I have never been happier!

Wow...seriously scary, so glad you and the baby are ok!
I imagine you really didn't want a c-section but I think this is a perfect example of doing what is best to ensure a healthy mom and baby!
How scary! You are amazing for doing what had to be done to bring your lil fella into the world safe and sound.
Great big hug to you!
