Official Intro

I have posted a few times but thought I would do an official intro!

I'm pastalady because I used to own a pasta shop. My DD Olivia just turned 4. She is the best thing ever! DH and I were married almost 10 years, thought we wanted to be child-free. Changed our minds lol! Always planned on her being an only. Dh is and loves it, my huge family is full of drama and I don't want that in ours.

DD has autism and was a handful as a baby. She finally STTN for the first time about a month ago, hooray it only took 4 years. Along with autism she has a sleep disorder. She can stay awake for 24 hours plus. About 4 times a year she will stay awake from 7 am until 9 am the next day. It would be impossible to care for another child or a baby while caring for her. DH works 30 hours a week and I work 8 hours a week due to the sleep issues.

I am loving having a 4 year old! She is so much fun, and we have a bit of our lives back. We enjoy having the time and money to give her the best. We love to travel and look forward to more exotic destinations as she gets older.

So happy there is this board!

You sound fun--knows how to make pasta, check; has a daughter who can party all night (and has some party hair), check; likes to travel, check!

You also must be very tired. My DS just started sleeping through the night at about 14 months, and I thought that was a silly long time.

Oh gosh! Just reading this makes me tired. And I complain when my 7 year old still calls out in the middle of the night for silly reasons. I can't imagine. Is there any type of cure for her sleep disorder? Or something she may grow out of? Or is it with her for life, and just something you have to deal and work with? (you don't have to answer if it's none of my business, just honestly curious).
