Sorry to cross post, I wasnt sure where it might fit best tho.

Here is my question -

If any of you had a scheduled c section already, do they do it on the Exact date your Dr says?

i.e. if it was to be scheduled for 39 weeks, is it to the day, or a few days before or a few after??

My Dr gave the receptionist the go ahead to call and schedule mine for 39 weeks but im wondering what the chances are of it being right on the day I turn 39 weeks.

mine is scheduled 39w 1d. I told them I wanted 1st time slot in morning so I dont have to fast all day. Dr said if a sooner date comes open she might schedule it if needed also if you are scheduled later in the day like 3pm they might move time up if they are ahead of schedule

I wish there were a little flexibility with it. It sounds pretty much like you just have to take what they give you.

Im 39 weeks exactly on june 8th according my lmp And mfm but for some reason my Dr has it as june 9th. I was hoping to schedule it for the 7th, which would be one day 'early'. But I dont see that happening =/

One more question... is it the Dr's office that calls you to schedule/tell you your date, or is it the hospital themselves and you can talk about another possible date??

I am having my c-section exactly on 32 weeks, they are taking my girls on that exact 32 week mark.

Mine was scheduled on the day that I turned 39 weeks. Though, I think it will also depend on the day that you turn 39 weeks.

I scheduled mine for 39 weeks exactly. My OB said anytime between 39-40 weeks but that he didn't want me to go over 40 weeks and that he wouldn't schedule it for before 39 weeks. Most doctors/hospitals will not do routine/scheduled c-sections before 39 weeks unless there is a good medical reason to do so. So we had some flexibility with the date within reason... I turned 39 weeks on a Tues and my doctor only worked Mon-Thurs and did not schedule procedures for Fri-Sun, so I had essentially a 3 day (Tues-Thurs) window to pick from. I also requested to be the first case of the day so I didn't have to fast as long and so there would be a smaller chance of my surgery starting late due to other earlier cases running over.

With Lucas it was scheduled for 38w1d because 38w was on a Sunday

This one is scheduled for 38w and it's on a Monday.

We got to pick our date but it could not be before 39 weeks exactly. So basically I had a week to play with. We chose to schedule for 39w5d as that worked best for our schedule and arranging care for DS. Since I went overdue with DS, they aren't concerned with me waiting so late.
