...like Care.com or SitterCity.com to find a babysitter??
We live far away from family, and I wouldn't ask my friends to watch my kids so I can go for a night out on the town. Anyone have luck using those websites to find people to interview for just an occasional sitter job?? I kind of just want a nice highschool girl that has a car and can come over every once in a while, but I have NO idea how to find one!
TIA!
Re: Has anyone ever used a sitter service?
We are in a similar situation. Our parents watch DD sometimes but I feel bad always asking them. It would be nice to have an actual sitter we could call up when we want to go out on the town. But because no one except our parents have ever watched her, I am SO NERVOUS to go leave her with anyone! I just picture some girl texting her boyfriend the whole time and some horrible accident happening. I am anxious to read the responses you get!
We don't live near family either and have had great luck with both sittercity.com and care.com
You definitely need to weed through the applications but from my experience most of the younger people on the site are college students or grad students pursuing teaching degrees (or even some teachers loking for extra cash). Just make sure to set up an interview with them and you should be fine.
Can I ask how you do your interviews? Like where are they? Somewhere neutral like starbucks or at your house?? What do you ask and all that kind of stuff? Finding a sitter makes me so nervous! I trust no one.
