My host is my BFF for 18 years. She always talks about how she wants a professional massage, but can't afford one. I am getting her a $150 gift card to a local massage place (that should cover at least 3 massages - depending on the type she chooses).
As hostess gifts for showers I've received a willow tree angel, a journal/pen set, and most recently kitchen hand towels, pot holders, and soap in a little package. All three were unexpected and appreciated.
I think I might do wine and chocolates or cute coffee cups with gift cards for my shower hostesses.
My mom hosted my shower and I got her a digital picture frame. Once DD was here I loaded it with tons of pictures of her and still do that for her from time to time.
You all posted awesome ideas...thank you! I like the from my shower to your shower thing, that's a cute idea. Also, gift card never hurt either. All seemed like great ideas... Thanks again :-)
I've hosted a lot of showers and I only once got a gift. It was an organic spa set. Had a candle, perfume, and other bath accessories. It was a really nice gesture and stood out to me. I think a hostess gift is kind of a new trend, but I like it! I don't think it has to be anything huge or grand to show someone you appreciate them.

This is my plan for two of my hostesses. A small bottle of wine, candle, bubble bath, etc.
We just bought a nice potted plant. Sounds boring but we had it special made and it turned out very pretty!

My Mom doesn't want a gift for it, so I spent more on her Mother's Day gift and called it good.
Since I'm helping my BFF financially with her shower, I wasn't planning on buying her anything.
