When you post, how do you earn points? Also, how do you move up from a newbie to bronze poster and up from there? I feel like I have been a newbie forever!
I think points have something to do with how many replies you get or how many threads you start. Different posts are worth a different number of points.
This. They don't really matter though, as far as I know... kind of useless.
Post count wise, I think you have to hit 1000 to get to bronze? 3000 to get to silver? I can't remember for sure.
I always wondered about the points. Very interesting. It's 500 posts to get to bronze. If it makes you feel better, I've been a member of TK/TN/TB for almost 7 years, and I just made bronze!! You have to be a pretty active poster to make it. 500 doesn't seem like that much, but it can take a while to get there!
16,000+ posts for platinum!!! That's insane!!! How long would you have to be a member and how active would you have to be to hit 16,000 posts?!?! Some of you around here seem to comment on every post (which is great, btw), and yet, you're still in the like 3,000-5,000 range.

Technically - I'm SUPPOSED to be over 7K - but that's another story. Lol.
I can see how people get that high. Multiple children would be multiple BMB's, all the TTC boards and then the specialty boards. Right now I frequent here and SAHM, but I've also been involved in TTCAL and PgAL. Hopefully when #2 comes along (and sticks around!) I'll be on another BMB.

I've been posting since I got pregnant with DD in 2008. I was much more active back then. Not as much time now!
I have a lot more posts than what my count here says... but Knot posts don't count in your post count for Nest/Bump. You'll see your real total on your profile page. I think it's kind of crummy that the Knot posts are separate!
ETA: my total post count is 12,973! Plus I had a different user name from 4-11/2007 that I changed because it was my name. I had a ton of posts under that user name as well, but I knew I would lose those.

500 to bronze, but I'm pretty sure it is 2,000 to silver and eleventybajillion to Gold.
I still don't understand the points! Don't care either, unless I win a prize for them!
Ambsies explains both in her blog.

1-500 posts = Newbie
501- 2000 = Bronze
2001- 6000 = Silver
6001- 16,000 = Gold
16,001+ = Platinum
