Baby sick first day back to work

So my poor DD has a fever that continues to rise 102.5 now. Dr wants to see her again today. My mom is going to start watching DD. would it look really bad if I called my boss and asked to work Friday instead of today? I don't want to already start off on a bad foot but don't want to leave her even if it is with my mom. What would you do?

    Lol DS got a cold on the Sunday night before I was supposed to go back to work the next day. We got no sleep and I called in and took another day off. It happens. If you have the time I'd stay home.
