RI Appointment (long)

First of all, I can't thank you ladies enough for your support.

It means so much.

First of all, mh and I did everything we could to make it an enjoyable one night getaway. This was important for us as a couple to try to enjoy life even when we keep getting the short end of the baby stick.

We book our hotel room via Price$line for $60 for a 4 star hotel. It ended up being a block away from the RI office in Chicago which was great. When we checked in, the person at the front desk immediately upgraded us to their nicest suite! It was a three room huge suite! Huge Price$line win!

We went for a nice long walk this morning through the city and to the Chicago History Museum and enjoyed a sushi lunch. A great time with him.

Now for the medical stuff....I enjoyed meeting with Dr. Cou_lam. She appreciated that we had a science/medical background and were well-informed.

We went through each cycle and detailed medical history, particularly my autoimmune history (which my RE has never bothered with). She went through in a very systematic way possible categories of failed pregnancy.

She is testing us both for autoimmune factors and me for repeated loss panel (18 tubes of blood later...). Everything you guys sent me in my previous post helped me to have confidence that everything was on point.

We are going to have a doppler study for blood flow and a SHG (which I have never had) after I start my next cycle since I was in the luteal phase and we have had unprotected sex (I guess you have to leave room for miracles). By that time she thought the blood work would be back and so next appointment we should have her recommendations.

The only part I wish was done better was coordinating so there was just one appointment. Luckily, we don't live that far.

All in all (thanks for reading this far!), we were pleased and everything but $1500 will be covered by our insurance so I think we are on the right path and using our resources wisely.

Thanks so much for all of your input and support. We feel at peace for where we are right now that we are pursuing everything we can.

probably in about 3 weeks (assuming my cycle is normal this month). I just ovulated and the next appointment needs to be between cd 6-11 for doppler and shg. she thought the b/w would be back in about two weeks.

mh and i are trying to keep our expectations reasonable, but the next appointment could be a big one....

I love a good deal! i m so glad your appt went well, and you have a game plan asfar as ruling some out.i hope they can get to the bottom, and you get a better plan for you!
