Liquid Medications

Lo was on zantac now she's on prilosec for reflux. We're comming to the bottom of her bottle of prilosec and I don't think we're going to have enough meds to last us till the next refill (soonest we can get refill is friday, I'm guessing we have enough to last until wed). So we're just going to suck it up and pay out of pocket to get a refill earlier. Does this happen to anyone else? She spits some of her meds out sometimes so we give her more to make up for what she spits out. I feel like our refill system doesn't take into consideration at all that when you're trying to give liquid medication to an infant, their is going to be some waste involved.

Anyone else in this boat?

    I usually don't redose when she spits out liquid meds, because I don't know exactly how much she spits out or how much was absorbed and I don't want to risk overdosing. nbsp;Generally the pharmacies do include some extra in the bottles to get you through to the next refill, but if you're doing extra dosing I can see how that would burn through that amount quickly.nbsp;
    Same. We never redose.

    I don't redoes.

    For other prescriptions when I've run out my pharmacy will either let me buy enough to get me through the next refill.

    I prefer when they just 'lend' me the bit I need until my refill.  So for my pills they will give me the 3 I need till refill day and then they subtract that from the next refill (but this won't help you come end of next bottle!).

    I have ran out of my meds before and I went to the pharmacy at Target and told them. They gave me enough meds (like six pills) to get me to the next refill. I would call the pharmacy and ask.
