Trouble TTC

CD 3 Blood Work Question

Hello!

I am supposed to go in tomorrow morning and get my blood drawn.  I got an email from my dr's office that said that it "takes a long time" to get the results.  I was just wondering what the protocol was for this.  I was under the impression that since it's day 3 of my cycle, they'd get it figured out and I would get prescribed letrezole the same day.  Otherwise, I will have to wait another cycle!  Is this normal?

 TIA!

Re: CD 3 Blood Work Question

  • If I remember correctly, most of my results were back the same day. I think I had to wait a few days for 1 or 2 of the values, but not "a long time".

I always get all of my blood work back the same day.  Since they often have to make quick decisions based on your blood work I would think they would want to get you those results quickly.

  • I guess it depends is this your first time getting cd3 bloodwork done? And was there a plan already for you to start Femara this cycle? I've gotten all of my bloodwork on the same day every time.

  • This is my first time getting the blood work done.  Back in March, my dr. wanted me to get my period so we could move forward with the letrezole.  My cycle ended up being over 100 days long.  I tried provera and nothing happened, so I was put on Yaz to try to get a withdrawal period.  It finally worked, so I was under the impression that we would move forward with everything asap.  I am just over this waiting part.

My results were back in time to start my meds. I actually started on CD4 though. You should be okay to start this cycle.

  • I get results the same day (usually within a few hours), except for one which comes in a day or two later (testosterone I think?).
