Diagnosis may or may not be related to 2IF

So last week my RE called and said my Vitamin D level was a little low so I started a supplement. Then my DH drops this info that I have had a fishy smell down below after BD I asked for how long and he said since we have been TTC. Gee thx DH that would have been helpful 9 months ago to know. Anyways my gyne diagnosed me with a bacterial infection running more tests to get specifics. I also read that low levels of vitamin D can contribute to vaginal infections. So this maybe the issue. Hoping that the antibiotics, probiotics and vitamin D do the trick.

    I am sorry, that sucks, I am glad however you know what it is and have solution for it. I know my clinic tests you for Vit D when you first start. I know it is important.

    I hope it is ok to chime in. My Dr discovered my vitamin D was super low, 9 and they wanted it to be above 30 for conception. It took months of 50, 000 mg per week of vvitamin D to get it up. I really believe that was a major factor in my IF. My only other issue was my age. Good luck!

    I didn't mean it imply it was my only issue I just think it had a big impact.

    My RE tests for vitamin D as well. It can definitely be an issue and is worth looking into and treating.

    TTC #2 since August 2011

    DX: Low AMH 1.79 Mildly elevated FSH 9.9

    1 month of Letrozole, 3 IUI's with Letrozole, All BFN. 1 canceled IVF cycle, BFN.


    May 2013 IVF w/ICSI #1.5: Start BCP 5/8 2 pills a day. Suppression Ultrasound 5/29. Begin Dexamethasone & Lupron Microdose 5/31. Started Gonal F and Menopur 6/2.


    ER 6/12 13R,9M,8F.


    5DT CANCELLED due to moderate OHSS


    5DT UNcancelled due to embryos not being capable of cryopreservation


    Transfered 2 "poor quality" embryo's on 6/17

    No frozen embryos.


    Beta #1 6/25 6. Chemical Pregnancy confirmed. Beta #2 6/28 -1

    I'm sorry! I guess I read too quickly! :) I am thankful you shared. I never would have thought to check vitamin d levels. Best of luck!

    I hope that does the trick for you!  That would be so great if that is all it is!  In hindsight, it would have been nice for you to discover that sooner, but if that is the issue, then at least it is an easy fix!  Good luck!
    TTC #3 (#1 for DH) since September 2011. DX: Unexplained infertility with possible cervical factor. May 2012 did clomid with IUI - BFN August 2012 IUI #2 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN September 2012 IUI #3 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN October 2012 IUI #4 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN November/December 2012 IVF/ICSI #1 Retrieved 12 eggs, 8 fertilized. Transferred 1 beautiful embryo and 5 made it to freeze. Got my BFP! January 2013 u/s showed empty gestational sac. FET cycle April 2013.  Transferred 2 5 day embryos.  BFP!!!!!  2 heartbeats!!!!  EDD:  12/27/13

    There is no real corallation with Vitamin D and fertility. However people with low level of Vitamin D can struggle with IF. Luckily mine was at 26 or 28 so they want it around 30. So I'm close. I'm hopefully one the infection clears up that will do the trick too.
