We've got time- I'll preface this post with that.
However, I feel like I'm constantly thinking of names, and occasionally throwing out the ones I really like, to DH. He seems to be shooting everything down! (We only ever settled on one name for DS#1, and now we find out it's another boy!)
Last night, we updated a shared list though with some great potential names that I never would have guessed to be his style, but that I do like myself! I finally feel like we're getting somewhere. A name just helps us bond and realize this is real (and will help me get nursery decor going, haha)
I imagine there are others that are in my boat? How are you keeping track of names? Do you each get to "veto" a selection?! Do you have a deadline set in your mind of needing a name by?
Re: Un-named baby
We also are team green (woohoo) and have a girl's name, which we both really love. The boys name we've narrowed down to a solid middle name, and more like "maybe this, maybe that" for a first name.
My goal is to feel more settled with it well before our EDD. Knowing DH, he'll just blurt out whatever in the hospital room, and I'll end up with a child named "Cletus." lol
This is boy number 3 for me. The first one (Orion) we went back and forth on for about 3 months, kept throwing the name out. Finally at work one day, it just felt right. I got home from work and said that it, he's Orion.
Our second one (Oliver) we were down to the wire. I was told by my doctor (due to medical issues) that I was going in that day (4 weeks early), for my c/s. We were down to 3 names, Oliver, Theodore and Dexter. I told this kid he needed a name before we went in. I said Oliver and he started kicking like crazy. When I said Dexter or Theodore he wasn't moving at all. We took that as a sign that he like Oliver. He is Oliver Theodore.
This one has no name and we don't really have any ideas... We have a list going, mostly reject names from when Orion or Oliver were born, but nothing either of us love. I just keep emailing or texting him new name choices. DH says No or Maybe and I add them to my list. My deadline will be once my c/s is actually scheduled.
I like that idea- having a name when the CS is scheduled (I'll have an RCS, too). Love the name Oliver, BTW!
Logan was the main "do-able" name DH threw out tonight- he cracked me up by saying it was "a little more 'private school' than he would typically suggest" but hey, I like it, so at least we're getting somewhere!
