My son turned one on Wednesday and I brush his teeth everyday. My question is should I be using infant toothpaste, or just water? I've been getting conflicting answers. What do you all use?
We've used the Orajel as well, but mostly Earths best when it's in stock, he likes the strawberry banana flavor better and is more coopertative. We use a toddler toothbrush. I will brush his teeth first, and then give him the brush so he get's use to using it. I've been doing this since he was six months and when I break out the toothbrush he get's really excited.

I just start using toothpaste for my LO,I use kids spry gel,it's safe to swallow and made with natural ingredients.also I start using toothpaste because he all ready has all his teeth, but I think is best to use only water if you LO doesn't has all his teeth.
We use Earth's Best strawberry banana flavor. DS likes it. No stores around me sell it, so I buy it from diapers.com.
His pedi recently asked if I was using toothpaste or water, and he was fine when I told him toothpaste. I think as long as you're brushing you're probably fine, but you might find that good tasting toothpaste makes it easier!
I use Tom's toothpaste every other day, just a smudge per our pedi. The orange mango makes it possible to actually get a decent brushing in. He's pretty resistant otherwise.

Re: Toothpaste?
I'm using the baby Orajel toothpaste and silicone finger toothbrush - it's the one that has Elmo on the tube.
