Crib Aquariums?

Do any of you have one of these? I got one on eBay and am hoping that it will be a comfort to my daughter as she learns to doze off on her own in her crib. Have you found this to be the case?

  • We have the Baby Einstein one. He loves it - every night we hear him "singing" to his fish as he falls asleep.

  • I have a 10 year old and a 6 month old. Both boys but so far apart in age, so I didn't keep my Ten year olds toys.  My mistake!!!  When my 10 yr old (his name is Jaden) was a baby Fisher Price had a whole "Aquarium" campaign.  So I had both the Aquarium for the crib and the Aquarium vibrating bouncer.  They were both lifesavers for me but I wasn't going to have more kids, I thought, so I gave them away.  Now I need them again but Fisher Price discontinued the whole line.

So I bitterly logged onto eBay and found the chair that cost me only 25.00 or 35.00 brand new back in 2003 now goes for 50.00 to 75.00 Used on eBay!!!

I was gonna just bite the bullet and get the chair on eBay for 55.00 plus shipping but after I read the entire description, I found out that yes the chair works but there is duct tape holding the aquarium up!!!

So I ended up not getting it.  We lived, now he's 6 months and a huge baby so it's too late for the chair.

Now u can see I went through a ton of trouble to get this chair. I looked all over the web and Craigslist.  This line of Children's Aquarium gear is 100% worth the trouble!

I did end up buying the one that goes on the crib....it's incredibly soothing.

I think u will love it!

  • Thank you!! Everything I'm reading about sleep tells me to put my little girl down to sleep when she is drowsy but not asleep, but she freaks out and can't settle. I'm hoping this will make her transition into sleep easier. Dealing with infant sleep is hard. I'm so looking forward to when she is comfortably on a sleep routine and bedtime like my little boy (who is potty-training...a whole other tricky experience).

  • My three oldest all have their own Fisher Price aquariums.  We started using them in the crib when they were 4-5 months old and then moved them out of the crib and near their beds when they transitioned to big kids beds.  My six, four and almost two year-old still use theirs today.  Sometimes I hear one going in the middle of the night and know they woke up and use that to help them fall back asleep.  Now I just need to buy one for the baby.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
