Hi everyone! I'm new to the birth club. Due 1212 : I have a question because everyone is asking when they see me. This is my first child, and my stomach is normally flat. I am only 8 weeks and 4 days as of today, and my belly is literally looking as though I'm 4 months along. There is no denying it : I had to switch to maternity clothing at 5 weeks. I know it's all bloating, but since it's such an immense amount of bloating could that mean twins? That would be a miracle! We have none in our family, but we would welcome them with open arms! My husband and I are so excited no matter what 3 what do you guys think? I'm 27, and hubby is in the military and he will be away the next few weeks so we have to wait till I'm 12 weeks to get our first ultrasound may 30th. I'm a local photographer and staying busy with that, and all my clients are in shock! They can't believe I'm only almost 9 weeks! : thanks in advance for any thoughts :
Re: Twins?
Welcome and good luck!
It is probably just bloat. Extreme bloat is normal at this stage. It will go down. Your baby is literally the size of a raspberry it wouldn't be big enough to cause your uterus to expand and cause a true bump. I'm sure if you are normally very petite it is just more noticeable.

This. I can't say you're NOT having twins, but nothing you've described indicates twins. An ultrasound is the only way to tell. If you didn't use fertility treatments, don't have twins in your family, and have no other risk factors for twins, I wouldn't expect twins. I also wouldn't expect more than one based on the nformation you've provided alone

You may be having twins. Can't tell until the ultrasound. Remember though, identical twins isn't based on family history or anything, it's just a random splitting of the egg. It could happen to anyone. Are your other symptoms more intense than usual pregnancies? I hear twins pregnancies cause more symptoms becuase of higher level of hormones. You can guess all day and all night, but won't know until the U/S.
