8 Month Check In

How many times a day does your 8 month old eat? My son is about 2021 pounds and eats 5 times a day. It totals 28 oz formula, 4oz rice cereal, 4 oz fruits and 2.5 oz vegetable/dinner. Is that too much? Also, does your baby use a sippy cup? My son isnt really intoit. TIA

DD takes 4 6 oz bottles a day and eats 2tbsp oatmeal and a stage 2 fruit for breakfast, lunch takes a stage 2 veggie or meat, then at dinner she has 2tbsp oatmeal and a stage 2 veggie. Sometimes at lunch she will have chicken and apples.

She isnt a fan of the sippy either. I tried water and it immediately came right back up, so the GI said to not do it again for a while, so now I give her an oz of formula in it, but she plays with it rather then drinks it, lol

I tried doing formula in a sippie and he drank it but it ended up coming out way faster than he could keep up with.

DD nurses 4-6 times a day. She also eats 3 meals. We do a rimmed cup rather than a sippy and she is able to drink from it well.

Baby girl nurses 4 times per day and gets 3 solid meals. I make all of her food and would guess she eats around 3 tablespoons per feedings.

No sippy cup here. I see no reason to use it before a year old. She drinks 30 oz of formula and has 3 "meals" per day.

DD isn't eating a lot of BM. About 20ish ounces a day I's guess. Is that low? She eats pured food 3 times a day and I put BM in her oatmeal to get more in her.

She's not too good with the sippy. She's about 14 pounds.

E is 7m3w. He nurses 6 times a day on average and sometimes 8. I don't know how many ounces.

We do BLW. I give him food whenever he is awake during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Not sure how much he consumes. It varies.

We offer many different cups. He doesn't get a sippy with a valve or a straw. He does okay with an open cup with my help, and he does okay with a sippy without a valve with some help. We don't practice a ton. Usually just with dinner.

He isn't huge. Probably about 17 lbs.

L nurses 3 - 4 times with me and takes 16oz at DC. She eats a 3.5oz pouch for breakfast, 2oz homemade veggie at lunch, and whatever we are eating for dinner (minus any dairy). I have no clue how much she actually eats at dinner. Sometimes very little, other times what I consider a bunch until I see what some of the BLW babies on IG are having.

She doesn't use a sippy cup and I am terrible at remembering to give it for practice. She is ok with the straw kind, better than anything with a valve.

I nurse 5xs a day do 3 meals of a mix of purees finger foods. I don't measure anything, but for example she will eat about 2 oz of pure plus 2 handfuls of Cheerios for breakfast. Lunch could be another two oz of pure, two crackers and a handful of diced fruit or cheese.

DD Sttn approx 11 hrs weighs about 17 lbs.

Eta she does take a sippy cup of water with meals but she also loves drinking out of my cup too.

I was worried that my supply was down since DS is on the low end for weight, but I pumped and bottle fed for 2 days last week and he had 38oz of BM each day. I'm not sure if he is able to get more than that when I nurse. We also do BLW whenever he is awake during mealtimes and he's getting at least some from that. He was all about the sippy cup when we first started, but doesn't care about it anymore.

He weighs about 17.5lbs at 7.5 months.

DS is 7 months old. He takes three 5oz bottles while I'm at work and then nurses 3x until bed. He eats purees, yogurt or oatmeal 2-3x a day. Each serving is about 2-3oz.

WE've tried a sippy, he does pretty good with it. We're using the TT one with a silicone top like his bottles. He weighs about 18lb.

He has 4 bottles per day. I make 7 oz. Sometimes he drinks it all, sometimes he doesn't. He gets fruit and oatmeal or yogurt for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, he gets either veggie and fruit purees or he eats some of what we are eating. He hasn't figured out a sippy cup yet.

DS is 8 months next week. He's on stage 2 gerbers. He has a fruit or yogurt for breakfast, fruit or veggie for lunch and another veggie for dinner. He'll have about 30oz of formula a day. He's currently about 25lbs.

Sippy cups are a no go. He's still trying to get the pincher grasp down too. He loves straws however so I've starting giving him a sippy cut with a straw and he likes that much better. He hasn't quite gotten that down either!

Reid will be 8m on Friday. He eats 3 meals/day (purees)... a mixed fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, a fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner. He also gets 5-6 bottles/day for a total of about 32oz of formula (some bottles are 4oz while others are 6oz... like before bed and first thing in the morning.)

He uses a sippy cup of water sometimes, but he mostly just plays with it. He also eats puffs and yogurt melts occasionally. I'm in no rush to give him "real" food.
