Parker vs. Oliver

Hello - Our baby boy is due in August and my husband and I have still not decided on a name!!! He LOVES the name Parker, and I love the name Oliver. Other names on either of our lists are Kieran, Maxwell (Max), Ethan, River, Griffin, Henry, Sebastian, Owen and Hudson.

Any opinions on any of these names? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!! :-)

I would choose Oliver over Parker. Other names I like from your list are Ethan, Henry, Sebastian, and Owen.

Spencer is also a name that seems to be on both of our lists that I forgot to include. Thanks for the feedback so far! I am glad I am not the only one who likes the name Oliver!!!

I love the name Oliver, but if he doesn't like it and you don't love Parker, I'd defer to one oef the names on your shared list.

I like Maxwell (Max), Henry, and Owen the most.

I like Oliver a lot. I'm not a Parker fan, it reminds me of a girls name most of the time nowadays. I like Max, Owen, Hudson and Henry.

I like both Oliver and Parker. I'd give the edge to Oliver but if you are in disagreement over which one to choose then it makes sense to look at other names.

I like Kieran, Sebastian, and Henry from the list your list.

Just ok: Griffin and Sebastian

Dislike: Hudson (reminds me of the river), River (really silly name imo), Parker (an occupation not a name), Maxwell (coffee?), Kieran (it sounds feminine to me like Kirsten; teasing potential Queer-en)

My 1 year old is Oliver, so obviously I like that name. Parker is not my style. I like Griffin and Sebastian as well.

I love Henry and Owen.

I don't mind Parker, but I think Oliver's less popular if that influences you.

I like pretty much all of the others on your list better than Parker or Oliver. Out of the two, I prefer Oliver. Parker is unisex and weak to me.

But I love Henry, Maxwell, Ethan, Owen and Sebastian.

How do you feel about either Spencer or Noah if we throw them into the loop. Better than the other alternatives or worse?

Spencer's a good strong name. I thought about adding Spencer to my list, but it's not 100% my style, even though I like it. It's very classic, but not any more so than Owen or Henry, they've all been around a long time. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I like Noah too quite a bit, but it's always sounded a bit too soft for me, despite being a biblical name. (Weirdly, Joshua and Elijah don't give me that same soft feeling.)

Eh, I'm not the biggest fan of Parker or Oliver.

I love Maxwell (Max) and Henry, either of those names will be used for our next boy.

Hate Kieran, River, Griffin, Sebastian.

Owen, Hudson, Ethan are okay.

Some of your names are right up my alley. Love Oliver, Ethan, Griffin, Henry, and Owen.

I don't mind Spencer, Parker, Kieran, or Maxwell.

I do think if Oliver is too popular for your tastes, Noah would likewise me. I know 3 Olivers under 2 and 4 Noahs under 2 (although one turned 2 yesterday...)
