Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Our Whole House is Sick

Ugh. I haven't dealt will sickness since DD1 was like 6 months old, and now all of them, except for myself are stuffy nosed, puking monsters. DH came home with it and now we're on day 3.

Any advice on how to get rid of a stuffy nose in an infant?  I have a humidifier, saline spray, and plenty of tissues on hand, but nothing is really helping. She has it in her chest, I just wish I could force her to cough it out.

Re: Our Whole House is Sick

  • Are you suctioning baby's nose? That helps. I hold one nostril closed while I suction the other one. My poor baby hated it, but it was the only way I could get a good amount of snot out. Use the saline drops before you suction too. You can also put Vicks on the baby's chest.

I do everything that you do plus a vapor rub on the chest and incline the crib our mattress whatever is safest I think the incline helps the most. I also keep up this reminds a day or two longer than I think LO needs just to be on the safe side
