Accidents in the middle of the night...

Does anyone have this  problem? My 3 yr old sleeps right thru peeing the bed...he gets so upset I don't think it's intentional. I will talk to the preschool re:this but wanted to see if any seasoned mom had advice for me. This happens like 3/4 times per week, I'm really sick of cleaning sheets and doing laundry but we'd hate to regress to pull ups....not to mention my son would freak bc he thinks it's for babies.

  • We are still in diapers at night, but I've seen bed wetting alarms sold on amazon. They get pretty good reviews, but I'm not sure about using them on a 3 year old.

  • You can't really "train" for night time since it's more of a developmental thing, so I don't really see pullups as a regression tbh (especially if it's happening at least half the time). DS has been PT for a while during the day/for naps, but still pees quite a bit in a diaper or pullup at night. Sometimes he will wake up in the MOTN and ask to pee, but more times than not he just pees while sleeping.  I'm not worried about it.

This. DD2 has been potty trained for about 6 months and still needs a diaper at night. She's wet every morning.

DD1 was potty trained at 2.5 years during the day and didn't start waking up dry until she turned 6.

I agree with all of this. DD1 has been staying dry at night 99% of the time for the last 2 months, and 100% of the time for the last few weeks, but still wears a diaper at night and will for a few more weeks until she's confident enough to go without. If she were still waking up wet 3-4 times a week we wouldn't even consider ditching diapers/pull ups.

  • We're struggling with this too. DS is 26 months old, and we've been potty training for a month.  We did the 3 day method, which goes straight to underwear. He's been staying dry at night maybe 5 our of 7 nights (or wakes up to potty). Last week was his worst week. We've left him in underwear, but we bought 2 washable bed pads from amazon. They're great. We put it right on top of his sheets, then pull it off if he has an accident.

  • We occasionally have a spat of night accidents.  What we did when DD first wanted to wear panties to bed was to get her up around midnight or so.  My husband stays up late so he would just take her to pee on his way to bed.  It was easy, we would leave the lights off and just go in and say "arms around my neck" then take her into the bathroom, pull down her pj pants and set her on the toilet.  She'd almost always pee, we'd pull up her britches and take her back to bed.  There wasn't any issue with her going back down or anything.  I think she barely woke up.

If there is a reason to we'll still do this.  Like if she's having a spell of it happening again or if she's had a lot to drink or watermelon before bed.

Thanks for this, I was wondering what would be the best product for this type of thing. There are so many options out there, and I didn't want anything disposable.
