PSA: Go get fitted for a bra. STFU and DO IT.

Seriously, if you have not done this recently, you are wearing the wrong size bra.

Repeat: you ARE wearing the wrong size bra.

I saw a link on Pinterest about proper bra fitting the other night. And don't be dumb, if you're all like "I went by the instructions in my VS catalog and ordered the size they said I was, and my bras fit me ok," I have some words for you: get your head on straight and go get fitted for real. I took a measuring tape and followed the instructions. I had been wearing a 38DD, which I thought fit me well. Uh uh. Turns out I'm a 36H. H!!!!!!!!

Went to Nordstrom yesterday... Nordstrom has skilled bra fitters who know what they're doing, and a huge range of sizes in store... She doublr checked my size, and when I put on that 36H, it was like the skies had opened up, I could hear angels singing, and my boobs were so happy. For the first time in I don't know how long, maybe ever, I was like, "now THIS is how a bra is supposed to fit."

I would NEVER have reached for a 36H. Ever ever ever. I mean, wtf?! Who knew they even came in H cups. But I drank the kool aid, and I'm never going back. I did a side by side wearing my old bra and new bra, and the difference is amazing. I look like I lost 5 lbs, just from wearing the correct size. Finally.

Mother's Day is coming. Make yourself go, get professionally fitted, preferably at a Nordstrom or other lingerie specialty boutique, and treat yourself to a new bra in your correct size, which I PROMISE you is nowhere near the size you're wearing now.

I can't get fitted until my boobs are officially done lactating. We just weaned completely 2 weeks ago.

I live nowhere near a Nordstrom, either. VS is still an hour or so away.

YES. Nordstrom is the best. They don't measure you. They actually have you try on a bunch of different sizes to see what works best. The woman who fitted me took one look at me, with my shirt on, and said "38G." It was the first one I tried on, and it was perfect. She grabbed like four more sizes to make sure, but nope. She got it right off the bat.

yeah, she measured my band size, then I tried on several cup sizes until I put on the H. It was amazing how well it fit, like Cinderella's glass slipper. Only for my tittays.

Confession, I had been pretty much wearing sports bras since Lo was born and I finally last month broke down and got fitted and I totally cried when I got home. I've been a 32DD most of my adult life. I gained some weight ore pregnancy and was a 34DD. I am currently a 36DDD. I look better with a regular bra but they still make me look fatter because of the shirts I have to buy to put over them. We need to figure out when we're having number three so I can get a frickin reduction!

I actually went to a custom bra fitting party and it was awesome. It's the only "sales party" that I actually liked. They measure you and design the bra just for your body. It also has a money back guarantee, but mine fit perfectly. I got two of them and am thinking of ordering another because they keep your measurements.

I'm not going to bother until I'm done nursing this next babe, but just curious, what do they actually measure? I'm really self conscious about my boobs, especially since having T, for some irrational reason and have always avoided getting fitted for fear of the unknown. I'm ridiculous.

she measured me with a bra on, and of course I was wearing pants. She measured my band size, under my boobs. Then i tried on a bunch of different cup sizes to be sure I was an H, based on my own measurements I took from that link I posted above. I'm sure you could wear a fitted tank or cami as long as she could measure under your boobs without a lot of bulk.

I'll second the hashtag small town problems!

I don't think there's a Nordstrom's in my state, and I live at the far north of my state. I was fitted once at Lane Bryant but that was years ago. I too, am positive I'm wearing the wrong size. I don't really know where to go to get properly fitted. I will be going to Portland,ME in a couple weeks so hopefully I can find something there.

Also, please do not get sized at Victorias Secret. I made this mistake once and every bra I tried on did not fit. So either the girl was not sizing me properly or the bras weren't right.

Either way, there are better places.

VS will "convert" your size to something they carry in store. So like when I was a 32DD they would tell me to buy a 34D but the band was always too big even on the smallest setting and my boobs would pop out of the cups.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE.

And yes, Nordstrom kicks *ss for bra fitting. JC Penney, Victoria's Secret and other stores do not.

If you live in a town with an Allure, they are top notch as well.

Believe me, paying $70 for a bra that fits you perfectly is well, WELL worth it. I'm happy, my boobs are happy, and you will be happy, too. I guarantee it.
