Success after IF

Guilty

Ugh, I feel so bad! I went to take a shower. I took a really long relaxing shower and even shaved my legs. E was already in bed, but I left the monitor out for MH in case she woke up. She usually goes back down really easily with a little chest patting or some music.
After my long relaxing shower and post shower lotion and cream routine, I figured out MH went to bed without the monitor! And of course E had woken up. Who knows how long poor E was crying while I was messing around and pampering myself. But she was definitely doing her way pissed off cry... Which involves blowing raspberries which is kind of hilarious except that it means she is super upset.
On the plus side I was going to dream feed her anyhow bc I didn't feel like pumping. But I feel so bad that she was in here all alone crying with no one to comfort her. I suck.

Re: Guilty

  • Oh hon - That sucks! However, you should feel no guilt at all. First, you deserve a little me time. I mean, all you asked for was a nice, relaxing shower. Second, the blame for this one falls on your dh. He's the one who went to bed without the monitor. Try not to feel bad hon. (((hugs)))

I agree, no guilt on your part. You don't suck, you needed to relax a little and there's nothing wrong with that.

This. I know we mommies all feel guilty anyways, but def not your fault. She survived!  And this SO sounds like something my DH would do.

Thanks girls. I know it wasn't really my fault, and she did survive. I just hate the idea of her crying and being all alone. Makes me feel so bad wondering if she thinks I have abandoned her. By the light of day, I see that she's fine and it was a bigger deal to me than her.

  • Oh, honey, I don't think you are the one who sucks in this scenario. And that isn't to cast blame on your H, but it really wasn't your fault at all.

Don't feel badly. She survived and wont remember. Its not like you leave her to scream like that all the time. My LO gets to that point at least once a day because I need to do something like use the bathroom or carry up his laundry from the basement. I'm glad you got some down time!

  • Yep you suck. Totally kidding. This has happened to me on several occasions where I try and shower during a nap or bedtime and DS is screaming when I get out. Makes me sick to my stomache because I feel so bad. So if you suck then I suck and we can suck as moms together. Lol.
