Trouble TTC

Intro

Hi all, my names Andrea, I'm 27, DH is 31, we've been trying unsuccessfully on our own for 8 months. His SA last month was normal and I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2008 (no IR/cysts/secondary symptoms, just the elevated LH-FSH ratio). Started metformin last month, 500mg 2x/day, and cycle day 3 &21 blood work to be done this cycle. Since I'm assuming I'm still on the PCOS train my family dr will refer us to the RE after my blood work is done.

looking forward to learning from you all!

Yes primarily because of my previous PCOS diagnosis, also I have been off birth control since my diagnosis and we have not used condoms or tired to prevent and have not had any pregnancies. That combined with us actively trying (BD every other day) for 8 months my doctor was concerned enough to refer us.

oh thank you so much for your divine insight DOCTOR! I didn't beg or plead to be referred to the RE, it was at the suggestion of a trained, doctor whom I trust. Like the original post said, I have PCOS; a diagnosed infertility disorder. Impatience has nothing to do with me posting her or determining myself to be infertile, something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

  • She told you you're being impatient because you kind of are. Are you charting? Lots of girls with PCOS get pregnant with no treatment. And it is recommended not by us BUT BY DOCTORS THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE TRUST (no need for the shouty caps either) that you wait a year before seeing a fertility specialist.

I hope you're willing to learn from us cause a lot of us have sadly been around here a long time. Good Luck to you.

  • I'm having testing done, not treatments, it's a 4-6 month wait for the RE.
