Update to bath time

Recently I posted a question about why my baby suddenly hated baths. Well, it turns out it was the soap I was using! We changed baby soap last week from johnson and johnson natural to the j and j head to toe. I had some suspicion it was the soap so I decided to try it again tonight..and sure enough, my DD cried as soon as we used the soap on her. Im not sure if it is the smell or if it is irritating her skin or eyes. Are there any moms out there who experienced the same with this brand?

  • I personally don't us any JJ because I worry about their chemicals. I use a mostly natural shampoo and I'm looking for an all natural one. I try to use the least amount of chemicals in everything.

Yep, I learned the hard way. I received a few bottles for my baby shower that went straight into the trash today!
  • I hate wasting stuff but I didn't use any I was given, either. I'm turning into such a crunchy person since having LO I want to get chemical free detergent and shampoo.

  • We just started using 100 Carrots or something like that. It's an all natural line I found at the grocery. He seems to like it and its not making him break out. I was using the J J lotion but he keeps breaking out in little bumps. I didn't know they had a bad rap. What's the deal?

they have some chemicals in their soaps that are not so good...especially for little ones...granted, they have promised to phase them all out...but not till 2014 or 2015.

  • Yup I won't use Johnsons either on D's. I actually use it to strip my hair if I dye it and it is too dark....so if something is harsh enough to strip hair dye out of your hair....how can it be safe for baby?We are not attacking you at all for using the product but it is just good for people to know how bad that stuff really is. Target and Walgreens carry some great natural options that WL not cost you an arm and a leg :
