Hey, we just got back from Iowa. What a long miserable trip!

...anyways on our way back to MN I was driving on I-35 around Ames, IA and I look over and in the next lane there was a guy on a motorcycle waving at me. It was MH best friend. Turns out he spent the last few weeks in Texas and was coming home. Weird!

He recognized our car because we have giant Mario mushroom in our back widow Embarrassed

The weather was crap and Violet did not nap.

We did get to catch up with a lot of relatives. MH has a cousin who was born the same exact day as him and they grew up pretty much inseparable until MH moved to MN in '93. They hadn't spoken since 2001 so it was very good to get them reunited!

I'm sorry the weather wasn't cooperative. I'm glad there was some reconnection, though. All is not lost!

We are debating going down memorial day weekend. We have a hotel room ( I believe in Ankeny) bought and paid for through hot wire. Otherwise we probably won't go down to Iowa until at least next summer. Every year we have a family reunion at the Ledges state park but they changed it to MH's birthday weekend and he would rather do something else for his birthday.

What weekend are you coming up here? Is it that first weekend in August? I'm gone the 1-2 (camping w/ Oliver) but otherwise I'm off work that weekend and next week. Are you doing the run at buck hill or a different one?
