Is this normal...baby shower related

So my shower is tomorrow and I just went online to check out our registry....and only 6 things have been purchased off the one registry and 5 things off another registry. I'm expecting 40 people tomorrow...is it normal for people to not buy off a registry???

Yes -- also keep in mind that many times people forget to give the person at the register the registry paper to scan. I got a TON of stuff from my registry, but a large chunk of it wasn't ever taken off of the registry when I checked it. No worries.

Yup typical.... not everyone likes to buy off a registry. Hopefully you will be as fortunate as I was with all the off registry gifts... they were super cute and necessary.

Yeah, happened to me too. It's wierd because when I got married, a ton of stuff got bought off of our registry. I still got lots of good stuff though. Cases of diapers and wipes. This will be very helpful!

Definitely typical. Many times people grab something while out doing other errands or have a particular item in mind they want to buy from the start. For DD we had two showers. One was hosted by friends and the other was hosted at work. The work shower went specifically off the registry because the hostesses collected a lump sum of money and then went shopping specifically for the big items off the registry. The friends shower was more what people wanted to buy or thought would be cute (lots of clothes and things in that realm).

It is possible that they could be getting you gifts cards so you can get the things you really really want. I also agree, some may be buying on the way to the shower or they may have forgotten to give your registry at check out.

I think it really depends on your group of friends and family and whether they are last minute shoppers or planners, as well as whether they are the type who like to pick off a registry or pick their own gift. I recently went to a family member's shower; we bought her gift right after she registered, but no one else bought one from the registry until the day before the shower. On the other hand, my shower isn't for two more weeks, and I already have 16 gifts purchased off my registry, which is probably like half the guests attending. So like I said, it really depends on your particular guests.

I think it depends on the people. I know that only 2 or so people who came to my shower didn't buy anything from my registry. I got everything I asked for and was surprised. I do know that I have been to showers where people bought a lot f clothes and not much gear.

A lot of people choose not to buy off the registry, why I have no idea. Also, many people but the day of! Good luck and have fun!

It's typical for people to not shop from a registry. It's also typical for people to forget to hand the cashier the registry to scan. It's also typical for people to shop last minute, even on the day of the shower. Those registries don't always update automatically (I know Target's can take up to 24 hours) so if people shopped today, it may not have updated yet.

You'd be surprised how many people buy last minute, just gift cards, not from the registry or how the stores botch the registry by not taking things off. You'll be okay
